I love it, Rhonda. Absolutely, everyone should join the Writer's Corner thread on Amazon. I consider all the authors there to be among my best friends on the net, and they have proven themselves to be a valuable support network :-) That address again is: http://www.amazon.com/forum/meet%20ou...

Great to have you here, Deb. My experience is that we learn as much from new authors as we do from more experienced ones. Sometimes, the best ideas and viewpoints come from not knowing what can't be done :-)

Hi Tim and everyone else on here. I've had a busy day today. I come to my e-mail and see this wonderful invite.

I'm one of the recent authors interviewed on Tim Greaton's Forum. He is a very witty guy and great friend to have. Thanks Tim for the invite and look forward to getting to know those of you I don't already know in here.

I haven't tried lately but the key to leaving comments in any thread is joining...by e-mail or adding it to your blog reader. My friend, Mark W. wrote a great blog on how to add blogs to your blog reader...anyone who hasn't learn this trick is might want to check out his blog post:

Our blog is about our journey through self-publishing and it includes different things from many different bloggers, some are also authors...so feel free to peruse our blog from the beginning:

I hear ya...I live in a small town and I don't near as many people here in the real world as I do in the virtual world. :)

Good news, I got a response from MM's friend Terry. Our book is posted on there now under Adventure both for the e-book version and the print version:

http://www.booksandnovelstoread.com/

He says that he will shuffle up the order of his books so the newer ones get a chance to be seen on the front page. Really cool idea.

Hello, I've been bouncing around alot between twitter, Goodreads, and was a column writer for Independent Authors and Writers before the website closed down. So that kind of explains why I know so many people...but not always where I meet them all the time. :)

C.S. Yelle (csyelle) | 41 comments I just joined twitter and goodreads. Twitter in the last 3 weeks and goodreads seriously in the last week. I am trying to do whatever I can to learn, get word out abou my novel, and try to meet more people who love writing as much as I do. So far it is great. Enjoying the networking and maybe my teaching background (chemistry, not writing) will translate into me sharing something of value that I've learned while learning to write (and continue to learn).

Hey C.S.,

I love that continuing to learn attitude. To me, it's the sign of a person with, at least, the potential to be great (if they aren't there already - although, they probably wouldn't think they were, even if they were!). My background is in Zoology (learning, with a little tutoring thrown in). I bet there is a huge variety of backgrounds here. I think that is what makes a gathering of writers so vibrant.

Hi C.S.,

I have a background in Health Information more specifically Coding Specialist. I basically translated the diagnoses they doctors provided and placed a code or code sets for billing and statistics. It sounds simple but really requires some knowledge in medical terminology and a few other things. I was good at it but not super fast. But as with many things people do, I got burned out on it. I took a giant leap of faith about two years ago and here I am a published co-author. If you asked me a couple years ago, I would never go on Facebook or twitter. I started out to promote our book but have developed quite a number of friendships in a few short months. Many of whom are on here.

This is paraphrase. If I could remember who said it, I'd have looked it up to quote. "The more skill one has, the more one realizes there is much to learn. Only those who know too little, think they have learned enough to be called great."
