Dara | 1 comments I've been looking for this book for a long time with no success. Here is everything I remember about it:
- It was a picture book with a simple story, for very young readers.
- The main character was called Rolo the rabbit, or Rollo the rabbit
- The story began with something like "The crows cawed as the sun rose;" there was a lovely illustraction of a red and orange sunset
- There was a girl rabbit at some point, but I don't remember her name
- At one point Rolo or this girl rabbit tripped over a tree root and bumped their nose.
-At one point Rolo nibbled a tasty mushroom
- It may have been a board book
- It was read to me in 1988- v.early 90's, and wouldn't have been published much later than this.

Any ideas, anyone?

Zomo the Rabbit: A Trickster Tale from West Africa by Gerald McDermott is a delightful tale from around that time.

Sharon Deane | 1 comments I've been trying to remember the name of a young adult novel that I read several years ago. It's about a group of misfits in an English boy's school who enter a triathlon-type contest. I think they title was the rather mean nickname of one of the boys and that one of the other boys was East Indian. The contest involved target shooting and horseback riding and they ended up using an old circus horse after their original mount gave birth shortly before the contest. Can't remember much more, but it was a great book.

Hmm, the page goes to a book called "Rosie the Rabbit," not sure why the URL says Rollo.

Looks like a board book.

Dara | 2 comments Bump! Am still looking for this book - it is none of the books suggested above! Hoping that someone might have come across this book themselves, as I've been totally unable to find it anywhere online. I thought that the title was "Rollo Rabbit's day out," but have checked thoroughly on Worldcat and Abebooks and there are no books with Rollo/Rolo and Rabbit in the title. Perhaps it was something more generic, like "the day out" or "a day exploring." Has anyone ever come across this book?

Ayshe | 4721 comments There is also Rollo Is a Bunny by Nettie King and Robin King: http://www.worldcat.org/title/rollo-i...

It appears to be part of the "The Foldaway series" along with "Susie is a kitten" (I can find cover image only for this one: https://books.bibliopolis.com/main/fi... ) and "Johnny is a puppy".

This is Kirkus review: https://www.kirkusreviews.com/book-re...
