It looks like it focuses on critically-acclaimed books (which explains why China Mieville is so high up there). The number badges are for the number of awards. It's pretty simple and handy nonetheless.

"Handy", yes, I guess it's a good definition! Maybe it's useful mostly for those who're starting to read science fiction, they can have a complete idea about "don't miss it!" titles, isn't it?

But for those who already are strong science fiction reader does it works? I mean, aren't Goodreads or Amazon suggestion by Genre more useful in order to discover new authors and titles?
