Debbie This book is recommended for our Book Club..but it seems everyone has read Impulse in these reviews....do we need to have read that one to enjoy this one as much as all of you?

Yes, I would recommend reading Impulse first.
I mean, it is a companion novel so what happens in Perfect is happening in parallel to Impulse time-wise, but the end of Perfect is going to be a huge spoiler for Impulse - so yes, I would read Impulse first. It's a great book, too, so I hope you like it.

Debbie thanks...is it as good?

Both books tell powerful, moving stories. Impulse centers around the issues of teenage suicide. Perfect, as the title hints at, is about achieving perfection at all costs.

Sky You don't HAVE to read Impulse, but I would recommend it considering the end of Perfect will spoil the amazing ending of Impulse if you haven't read it. Both books are absolutely amazing and give insight into each other. So even if you don't read Impulse first, I still recommend you read it.

Bonnie Rose You don't have to, but reading Impulse is highly recommended.

Colby Yeah, read Impulse first. The ending is a lot better than Perfect's, and they are the same, but I enjoyed the way Impulse's ending was written better.

Bonnie Rose I think the ending for Impulse was so much more impacted than in Perfect. I still get chills though whenever I read that last line. And admittedly I do tear up. Every time, even when I'm just re-reading that last line.

Iesha You don't really have to read both. If I had to choose which one of the two, read Impulse

Lunabell Definitely read Impulse first. But both book's last lines brought me to tears.

Kristin Sensor Yes, read Impulse first. It's not like they are long reads. Both are great books.

yes, Impulse should be read first. If I read perfect first, like I was originally going to, I would have been ticked. So yes, Impulse! And by the way, Impulse was waaaaaayyyy better than Pefect. Everything in Perfect just cuts off because of a big event. So ridiculous

No, I read this first then a few of her other books before I stumbled along to Impulse. Cara and Conner tie in together but you can figure it out just fine no matter which order you read them in.

Bookiemom LG I think you should... It ties together really well.....

Julianna I read Perfect first, then Impulse. Good companions but not strictly necessary. I liked Perfect more anyway.

Misty I only read a part of impulse and was unable to get through it. I tried 2 or 3 times and had to put it down because it struck too close to home for me. but i went ahead and read perfect and didnt realize until i finished it that it was a sequal to impulse

Caroline Appel I would recommend to read Impulse first. Both are very powerful books but I think you'll get more of a feel for Conner's family if you read Impulse first. It's not necessary though.

Allen T Personally, you HAVE to read both. But in all honestly, Perfect is good enough to stand alone. You will notice some references to the two interchanging books, but nothing major. You could read either or "first" but read both, definitely.

NayDoubleU no but i suggest you do

Sierra Andrews you don't have to but the story is much more in depth if you do and you get a better feel for every thing then.

Cait In my opinion, you may have to read impulse just to get the backstory on Conner and Cara. And the ending is much more powerful if you do. However, it's not entirely necessary. I enjoyed Perfect much more than Impulse, but they were still both pretty great.

Jackie I never read it and loved this book just as well.
