Sheila, I now have a Kindle Fire in my hot little hands! I played with it a bit and I am extremely impressed. I am now charging it up to put it through some paces later this evening!

Green eyed monster of jeolousy here Robin. My order still says shipping soon. :(I want to hear all about it later after you have played. How long does it recommend that you charge it the first time?
Sheila it said 4 hours for a full charge.
Mine arrived but since it's a gift I haven't gotten it. My Mom has been playing with hers and hates it so far. She's having trouble with the touch screen controls.
Shaina, I too have found that touch screens are real tricky until you get the hang of them so tell your Mom to take it slow and just keep practicing.

I've heard of people having the Fire in their hands while it says Shipping Soon on the website.

Well the tracking info shows that my Fire has arrived at my hometown Fedex. Can I hope that I receive it tomorrow? It seems like its been a LONG week.
I am joining the waiting list. I just ordered mine this evening and hopefully my parents let me play with it early because it is my birthday and Xmas present. I want it now! I got to touch one at Best Buy and I didn't want to let it go... but I bought from Amazon.

I can't wait either. I'll be gone all day today so hopefully when I get home it will be here. From past experience Fedex doesn't usually show up here until about 6 pm.I am sure I'll have lots of questions then so get ready!
Mine has an estimate of 11/30 - 12/05. I need to talk my parents into letting me have it early for my birthday or a few days before! I want it now though. I am so impatient. The Kindle app looks great on it and less straining than a regular computer screen does anyone notice that? I only briefly played with one at Best Buy.

I am getting so annoyed because mine has had the same tracking info for about 48 hours or more. I know with the holiday it can mess it up but I just want to know where my baby is! I want to hold it.
