Waiting for It to Ship

It was a little tricky to actually get the box on the right to accept my email address, but after trying a couple of times (hitting return as well as clicking) and waiting a few minutes I got an email with a link, like it says. Now the email can sit in my inbox until I have my Fire, and when I get it I'll open the link there and download the app. So there's no android device registered yet on my account.

I'm in a quandry. It says they will be at Best Buy on Tuesday and my delivery date from Amazon says

Shipping Soon

Is there an advantage that anyone knows for ordering from Amazon or should I cancel Amazon and just buy it from BB?

Gee, I do not know, Sheila. I decided I had to have it ASAP and paid for next day delivery on Amazon because it was worth it to me to not get in any crowds or find out it was sold out. Oh, by the way, I love your cover that you made that you posted the picture of! Very nice!

Thanks Robin, I am SOOO anxious to fill that cover it has been sitting empty waiting since Oct. 2 when I finally made my decision to order the Fire. I am so excited. I hope we are as thrilled as we hope to be with the Fire.

I would bet that you get your order delivered at the beginning of your estimated delivery date, Sheila. Also, I don't think stores will have that many Fires to start, meaning they could run out very quickly and then not have any for days. Plus there'll be mobs of people for days trying to get them. I'd hold onto your order if I were you.

My guess on the delivery date is based on lots of people who have estimates of Nov 16 to 19 when they know they'll be getting it on the 16th.

Mine says delivery Nov 17, though I am hoping for sooner depending on the shipping point. My other (Prime account) deliveries often come a day early than the estimate. Fingers crossed.

I live in Florida so one of the biggest advantages for me in ordering direct from Amazon is I don't have to pay any tax.

Jennifer: I live in Nashville TN and most deliveries come from KY now, soon many will also come from TN so who knows, maybe even faster! :)

Mine was ordered by my family as a birthday present (my birthday is Friday the 18th) so I just hope my family gets it by then because I won't be seeing them again until the next Wednesday. I can't wait to get it in my hands!

Since it wasn't ordered on my account I can't check the shipping date. I know it as ordered the day the announcement was made within a few hours of the announcement. My mom tends to use the free slow shipping so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I never have figured out how to find out the shipping date. All I see is the estimated delivery dates

I guess it is the Delivery Estimate that matters more than the Shipping date. In order to make up all happy amazon should just ship all of the kindles super fast until they get all of the pre-orders out of the way. I know that last I looked if I ordered with my prime shipping now I would get it by the 17th which makes me think that they have enough to ship them all out on the 15th.

I really do anticipate that the shipping will go quicker than expected. I'm sure Amazon would much rather you get it from the website than a store, and so it is very possible that we could be in line for some *nice* surprises.

Aww, I feel for you Sheila. I've heard people are already getting texts saying their Fires have shipped, which means we really are ahead of schedule. I bet the first wave of boxes will show up Tuesday.

Mine still says "shipping soon" with a delivery estimate of 11-16. I paid for one day shipping.

Hopefully this will update on Monday.

I pre-order a ton of books from amazon and whenever I get the notice from my credit card company that they were billed by Amazon my item is always shipped the next day...so since I got my notice yesterday that they billed for my Kindle Fire maybe Amazon will ship it tomorrow???
I also got a notice that Amazon billed my credit card today for the Cover I pre-ordered..I didn't get the next day delivery on the cover so maybe they will ship it tomorrow.
We can only keep our fingers crossed.

I got billed today also so that is hopeful and helpful in making my decision about picking it up at Best Buy on Tuesday. I will just have to be grown up and patiently wait for the fed ex truck.

I am getting the Kindle Fire for my birthday. I found out that it will arrive from the 17th - 21st. I hope that means the 17th! On Amazon it says it's first come, first serve, so I guess a lot of people have pre-ordered already.

I think it'll come soon. Like I was telling Sheila, keeping the order is probably anyone's best move. I bet stores will run out fast tomorrow and then have nothing for days. Plus you'd be paying tax anyway. A few more days of grinding teeth and then it'll be yours. :)

Yes, I hope! I am definitely not going to cancel the order. It says it should come on the 17th - 21st.

I was not expecting to get my Fire until tomorrow on the 16th but this morning I had a wonderful email from Amazon saying that I would receive it today! I am so jazzed and so happy with Amazon.com as they treat their customers with class!! I can not wait to hear how everyone else likes their Fire!
