I'm glad things are looking up for you now. Hello!
You may be tired of reading this, but, another welcome to the group. What are you currently reading??
Hi Cammieo! Glad you joined the group!
Hi Everyone, I'm Basha and I just joined today. I love to read and will read just about anything. My favourite authors include Khaled Hussein, Jeffrey Archer and Wally Lamb but I also enjoy the odd piece of chick-lit. I'm reading Jane Urquhart right now - don't love it just yet but I usually give every book three chapters before I give up for good so we'll see how it goes.
Hi, Basha! I'm sure you'll enjoy the site AND this group (it's so addictive).
:)

Hi .. I am Athira. I am from India, but now in Virginia doing my Masters here. I just joined this group yesterday. I read on a spurt usually. I get more time to read in summer, but would like to continue reading regularly even after next semester starts. I am usually partial to books written from a woman's perspective and can identify with it the best. I like YA novels, if they have a mature writing, and recently I devoured the Twilight series and really liked it. I also enjoy reading Ayn Rand, Jeffrey Archer, John Grisham, Jodi Picoult and JK Rowling. Looking forward to a great time with this group! :-)
Hi I'm Dree, and I just joined this group. My favorite genres are literary fiction and nonfiction books about food (not cookbooks, I love a few but don't read them per se--and I'm picky about them!).
I don't know how much I'll participate in discussions--I am mostly looking for book recommendations to add to my library queue. Because it is not long enough as is.

Hi Aths/Athira :) Which do we address you by? Welcome to the group, it's really friendly here and I'm sure you'll be hooked in no time at all.
Hi Dree, welcome to the group! I like literary fiction too, though I haven't read much of it. Look forward to mutual recommendations!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! Am really feeling at home. My real name is Athira, but I usually go by Aths, since it's less of a tongue twister! ;-) After so many years of correcting the pronunciation every so often, I've given up on it, so much so that I myself struggle with how I should mention my name to others (Should I make it hard or a breeze?)
I like to read good books and research them. I just finished reading Perfume by Suskind. I am now reading The Spectator Bird and Water for Elephants.
Hello!!! I'm definitely new here. I am a total book lover. Just recently hit into classics, which became my favorite "genre", you might say.I'm from New York City, 16 years of age. Just this morning finished The Book Thief. It is a great book.
Started Teh Curious Incident of a Dog in the Night-Time.
To Seg4me, Water For Elephants is completely awesome, I loved it. Put it down just to sleep. :)
I write poetry.
The end. :)
Hi Seg4me and galya, welcome to the group! I'm so glad more people are joining - it's one of the best groups on GR (I think). Seg4me, in researching books, what do you mean? Galya, I love NY, it's awesome. Hope you enjoy The Curious Incident...!

Welcome to the group Seg 4me and galya. I'm trying to imagine what it would be like to be 16 again, lol.
I am already in love with this website, and thank you Lauren, Gerry and Basha1971 for the warm welcomes. :)I wonder if I am the youngest one here... :)

Yay, good to know I'm not the only young one!!
It's kind of weird being the youngest, isn't it? :)
I s'pose. I think there are a some people our age, but a lot of them hang about of the RP and Twilight groups, which isn't my kind of thing (apologies for the sweeping generalisation!).
I was once a crazy HP and Twilight fan, which is, sometimes, an embarassing thing to admit, considering the literature I am currently into.
Hi, my name is Yvette and I live in Leland, NC. I joined the group because your choice of books and overall discussions really appealed to me. Hi, I'm Christy! I've been a member of this group for a while, but am coming out of lurkdom! I can't wait to participate in your Austen Autumn!

Hi Patricia,
I know what you mean about finding it difficult to find the time to sit down and read books. I read mostly when I'm holiday, or when I'm on the train.
The fact that you have taken the time to join good reads shows that you are willing!
Goodluck with all and enjoy!
xx
Christy; Glad that you are participating in Austen Autumn! Yeah! I think it will be fun!
Hi Patricia, Yvette ad Christy! Hoep you'll like it here as much as I do. :)
Christy wrote: "Hi, I'm Christy! I've been a member of this group for a while, but am coming out of lurkdom! I can't wait to participate in your Austen Autumn!"Hi everyone, I'm Jen! Like Christy, I have been lurking, too, but really want to participate in Austen Autumn, so I'm coming out of hiding :) Seems like a really great group!
Hi Jennifer! Glad to see you were tempted from lurkdom! Austen Autumn seems to be v. popular amongst members (not me though!)
Welcome all x)

Hiya! My name is Nadia and I just found your group on GR and decided to join - I think the fact that I saw that you are reading In Cold Blood )which is one of my favorite books) is what got me to join :) Looking forward to chatting with you all about some great books! Cheers!
Hi Nadia! A warm welcome to you :D
Hi all, I'm Peggy from Mesa AZ and I love to read. I just found Goodreads a couple of days ago and am having a wonderful time finding enticing suggestions and enjoying wonderful memories. I'm looking forward to reading the monthly books chosen by this group.
Hi, Peggy :D I'm glad you enjoy the site so far. Welcome!
Hi, I'm Kuutar from Finland and reading is my passion (well one of them). I don't really have genre limitations, I read almost everything that I find interesting. I'm constantly looking for new interesting books and I am sure to find great recommendations from here. :)
Hi everyone! My name is Jennifer and I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. I love reading and always have. I read all different genres but my favorites are historical fiction and non-fiction about different European monarchies, especially the Tudors. Other favorites include The Mists of Avalon, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Gone With The Wind and Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, to name a few.
Looking foward to this group. I've been wanting to read Interview with a Vampire and now I see it's a group read here so that's a good sign :)
Hi Stephanie! Book addictions are the only healthy type. I'm looking forward to recommendations!
Hi Kuutar! Wow, I'd love to visit Finland one day. Is English your second language?
Last but not least, hi Jennifer! If you like the Tudors, there's actually a group on that, if you didn't know already. I look forward to possible recommendations :)
