Just thought I'd say Hi... I joined the group a few days ago. I probably know some members from other groups. I saw a friend's post on my newsfeed and it looked interesting! I'll join in the monthly reads if I have the book on my TBR shelf (really need to stop buying books!) and look forward to joining in on the discussions!

Hi folks. Just wanted to say Hi. I'm from Edinburgh and just joined the group as the monthly reading looks interesting. Look forward to chatting to you all in the monthly discussions
Hi, Jennie. So glad you are here. I am not aware of any other member from Edinburgh so it is especially nice you have joined us. My name is Sandra from near Phila. Pa. My interests are varied: meditation, manga, haiku, words and books of course. This is a kind and active group of book lovers. Looking forward to getting to know you and learning more about you,Edinburgh and Scotland in general.
Welcome to the group Margaret!
Hello Lynette! Glad you joined our group!
Hi Sharon! Glad you joined our group!
hello Kim! Thanks for joining the group!
Hi,My name is Carla. I live in Sherman, Texas. Married, with 2 adult children, 1 granddaughter and 1 grandson on the way. I'm blind and only read audio books.I average 3 to 4 books a week, depending on length. Not bragging, I can just read and do so much more, cook, laundry, gardening, exercising, stuff like that. I am looking forward to getting to know other fellow book junkies and getting lots of recommendations.
thanks,
cj or Carla jo
Welcome to our group Carla. You'll fit right in with our group!
Welcome to our group Jessica!
Hi Carla, Welcome! I too rely on CDs and tapes because of MCS which results in chemical sensitivity to printer's ink. It is amazing how in the past year the CDs are coming out so much faster. Our country library is a wonderful resource. I am elible for the services for the blind but prefer CDs and tapes at regular speed on regular CD player. Our county library even goes outside the system if a choice is not avialable here.Isn't it amazing how important the narrators are? They can make a mediocre book special and rarely even cause the downfall of a good one. Looking forward to "reading" with you.
Sandra and Carla, I have suggested this reader to others, but Campbell Scott reads a lot of books, and he is my all time favorite. I always say he could read me the phone book and I'd listen, rapt!
Welcome to the group Serogerso2!
Hi Natalie! Welcome to the group!
Hi Hege! Glad you joined the group!
Welcome to the group Kimberly!
Hi. I'm Dan. Just moved back to Albuquerque after about a year in Florida. I've been an avid reader since the summer between fifth and sixth grade. Used to read primarily non-fiction (history, business, and science) but about ten years ago I started reading the classics that I should have read in school but never got around to. Now my reading mix is around three fiction books for every non-fiction and I'm still working my way through those classics.
Very glad you joined Dan! I think you'll like it here.
Hi Deborah! Welcome to the group!
Hi Julie, glad you found and joined our group!
Hello all,Like many of you I am an English teacher (currently unemployed, unfortunately.) While looking for a full time position I sub, mostly for middle school and high school. This gives me a lot of free reading time! I was tired of wasting precious time on books that weren't that great, so recently I compiled a list of about 300 "greatest books" based on the lists of various organizations/publications. I'm veeeerrrrrry slowly working my way through it and I think this group will help. I'm happy to be part of it :)
~Emily
Glad you joined Emily. Feel free to ad your list here as others may like to join in the reading.

Welcome to the group Wendy, Morgan, Anne, Chris, Hanna, Benjamin, Michelle & Mimi!
Hi, my name is Tom, I'm living in NJ with my wife and 2 weimers, and I joined a couple of days ago. I've been reading the different sites, marking off all the books I've read, which was a really cool way to revisit them, and have been really overjoyed by all the participants and discussions because that means that reading is still going strong. I'm always excited to hear about and talk about books and new authors. I always have an open mind when it comes to books.
Glad you came, Tom. Watch your to be read list grow! It is amazing all the good ideas and recommendations here.
