Thanks for the message! I'm enjoying this already!

Save for college, then save for weddings! We've put 3 through college and married off 2 of them!

A newcomer to this group, my name is Sandy and I am looking forward to reading many good books and meeting interesting people here. A former teacher of grades 5-8 I loved my job. We lived in Brazil for two years a long time ago which was a great experience. Now my husband and I live in a small town near Philadelphia. We have two grown sons.

I too love reading and books, I'm a collector and really don't visit the library, I love owning books just as much as reading them. I'm a mother of two daughters.
Lorena we are all glad you came!
Thanks for bring us another great member Ken!

Vonney, Jason, Jon & Scott! :)

The secret for 30 years of marriage? Well, opposites attract! He's a Cardinal fan & I'm a Cub fan - a mixed marrriage! Probably also sharing some of the same interests, staying involved together with our children, just to name a few.

Welcome to the group Annabell, Valley & Shannon! :)

Welcome to the group. Delighted to have you Annabell, Valley, Shannon, Esther, Jim,Desiree, Allison, Vonney, Jason,Jon, Scott, Lorena, and my apologies if I overlooked anyone.
Sandy
Welcome to the group Sondra & Stephanie!
Welcome to the group Amanda! :)

I'm Aine (pronunced Anya) its Irish, like myself.. I joined this club because I liked everything on the bookshelf so far, great taste!
I live in the midlands of Ireland, in Laois the only county that doesn't touch a county that touches the sea.. But we have mountains and woodlands and lets face it Ireland's so small its still only about an hours drive to the coast anyway.. Enough of the geography lesson..
I'm a magazine designer. I am currently in the process of starting a new magazine for musicians written by musicians just about equipment, recording etc. My husband is a musician and is in a band called The Perfect Skins.. I have two children aged one and three who are completely crazy and I adore them for it and two dogs Woody and Flint so its a bit of a mad house! Whenever I do find time I read,I like to read biography, classics, good fiction (not contemporary romance type chick lit) I'm currently reading The Rainbow DH Lawerence perfect for Spring I reckon..
Welcome to the group Kelly Jo & Aine!
Hello & welcome Leila, Usha, Leah, Cristy Aladdin, Veronica, Sarahelizabeth, Aruna, Jaime, Johnida & Marja!

Aine, I enjoy DH Lawrence, as I share a birthdate with him. The Man Who Died is one of my fa..."
Thanks for that Ken, I'd never heard of The Man Who Died, but I'll be sure to remedy that.. Just read the brief description.. "The story expands beyond its Christian roots to explore and embrace Lawrence's abiding faith in the life-force apparent in every aspect of the natural world.' Sounds right up my street, thanks for the suggestion...

thanks for the welcome :) I haven't introduced myself because I only joined Goodreads 2 days ago and thought it best to lurk to start with! I'm a lifelong inveterate reader and joined this group because it looked interesting. I'm British originally but have lived in France for 10 years.
Check my bookshelf to see what books I like (imported from LibraryThing, which I got fed up of, especially the limit of 200 books for free membership -- that's why I came over here). This isn't all my books, i'm just adding them as and when.

I joined the group because I thought it would be interesting to get book suggestions, especially since I'm not a "reader" I always seem to get into a book then drop it for a few years and try to pick it back up...I am currently reading The Mermaid Chair, by Sue Monk Kidd and it seems fairly interesting...With my line of work I tend to read a TON of children's books, I just finished reading Hugo Cabret with the 5 and 7year old boys I watch and they LOVED IT!

Welcome to the group!!
Is your avatar a picture of your dauchsund? If so she is very cute. My avatar is of my two dauchsunds. They are a little different they are called pie-balds which is why you see so much white in them.
Anyways Welcome to the group, I'm sure you will enjoy it here.

I've read Jane Smiley's A Thousand Acres, which I absolutely loved (it's a kind of retelling of King Lear in a modern setting), so I am interested in reading this! But since I joined Bookmooch, I have a permanent backlog of books to read :)

Can't remember if I introduced myself but I live in Northern BC, Canada. I am mostly a stay at home home but am working part time as a consulting anthropologist.
I enjoy all sorts of books but really not so much of the horror genre.
If anyone has read the book Alice, I think by Susan Juby - you will know a little about the town I live in (actually you will knwo more than you would expect) as it is set in my town of Smithers.

Hi! thank you for the warm welcome! I am currently reading The Secret Life of Cee Cee Wilkes. I juust finished Little Bee and wanted something a little lighter. Tommorow night is book culb noght so i'm excited to find out what we will be reading!! Any top 5 recommendations for me?

Thanks, Emilee.
I look forward to getting to know everyone during book discussions!

Hi,
I'm Jessica. Thank you for the welcome.
I'm a SAHM and my son is three years old.
I love to read and write and I am just starting to make some time for myself now that my son is a little older and a little more independent.
I'm looking forward to the April reading selection and to getting to know everyone better.
