Title: The Dark Sylva
By: Me (Kaley B.)
Date: October 7, 2011
What For: Writing Contest.

I should have ran home,
before I saw her torn to shreds,
before I heard the screaming,
the begging,
the pleading for mercy,
In The Dark Sylva.

A month later I sit,
isolated,
unable to speak,
of the sight that never leaves me,
from that dreadful night,
In The Dark Sylva.

The worst part was not the screaming,
the sight of it all,
or even the nightmares that haunt me.
The worst part was when the screaming stopped,
the body went limp,
and the sight planted into my brain,
Of The Dark Sylva.

How many have died,
have suffered?
How many sons,
daughters and parents,
have disappeared,
In The Dark Sylva?

Please do tell me,
why I urge,
why I ache,
why, o' why, I yearn,
to go back into...
The Dark Sylva.

As I walk, I wonder,
"Will they miss me?"
"Will they wonder?"
"Will they even know where to find my body?"
"Why am I so compelled to go back into,
The Dark Sylva?"

My feet spoke for themselves,
slowly moving upwards,
it seemed as if,
even if I wanted to,
I couldn't stop the magnetic force,
leading me into,
The Dark Sylva.

For these answers,
I do not know.
But there is no turning back now,
I can't,
It's impossible.
Tears stream down my cheeks,
as I walk into,
The Dark Sylva.

That was the last time I saw the trees,
the bodys,
and the blood.
That was the last time the sight occurred,
the nightmares haunted me.
That was the last time I saw...
The Dark Sylva.

Vered (vered_ehsani) If I want to post a short story that's 5 pages long, is that ok?!! Is there a size limit?
