Deva I read that some time ago and I didn't enjoy it probably as much with you. I had issues with the book. But I'd love to discuss as people read. I think one of my main issues is that I went into this book expecting a Paranormal Romance and came out of it understanding that this really slid to the side of Urban Fantasy. Not a huge thing, but fairly significant if you are expecting romancy-romance. Also, yeah, had an issue with Matt.
I think you alluded to it upthread, he's too beta for my taste. In this type of book where there are bad people doing bad things to your protagonists you kinda yearn for them to kick ass and take names. I thought Matt and Alexa both were a bit lacking in that area, despite the fact that they were supposed to be so bad-ass. Ultimately my issue with the book was that I felt they were both too reactive. It seemed they were always being led around and stuff was always happening to them.
