The main character is Alex. Alex and his friends Pete, Georgie, and Dim were sitting at the Korova Milkba. As soon as they leave the bar they see an old man carrying books home from the library. They saw an opportunity and they sensed his fear, they toyed with him for a few moments before assaulting him. Only after ripping apart his books, ripping out his false teeth, and ripping off his clothes do they let him trudge away whimpering.
