Diego is the main character. It was the fourth of July. His father was taking him to the fireworks stand to buy some fireworks. While they were buying fireworks, the man working at the stand asked Diego if he wanted would like to have a job there. He said he'd call him right before New Years to talk about it. Diego got the job. His friends wished they could work there also. He is lucky to have a job at 13 years old, his sisters don't even have a job yet & they're older than he is. His sisters are always asking their father to lend them some money to do stuff. Diego didn't have to do that, he had his own job, which made his father proud of him.
