ABANDONED. I really want help, I forgot the title of the book!

There was a book that I had, and I don't know if I lost it or not. Anyway I only read a few pages before it went missing. I remember the cover had two adults hugging a boy and a girl, and on top it had a wolf head, it looked like it was holwing. I don't remember the names of the two people but in the book the girl is running through the forrest becasue bees are chasing her. She jumps into a lake/pond to escape the bees. When she gets out she sees a man and he helps her out. She passes out and he begins to search for serious injuries to her from the bees. He applies oinment and says a type of prayer. When she wakes up they introduce each other. The man is from a reservation and the woman has a Ph.D in math.

Before actually reading the book it had a vocabulary sheet of Native-American words and their meaning. On the back where it gives the summary it was talking about an FBI agent and how he has to fight these shapeshifters. I really really don't remember the title or the author, so if you could please help that would be much appriciated!! :)
