I'm still waiting on a copy of this from the library, but hopefully I'll have it by the end of the week.
Sounds great to me. That will give me a chance to finish reading Best Food Writing 2010 before it needs to go back to the library.
Can I join this discussion. I just received a copy of this on my kindle app from the library. Would love to chat with others about it.
I'm really enjoying this book too. I like how the author is doing the world building. I'm learning about some things at the same time as the heroine is.
Yeah, I love the world building. It's really interesting. I believe the author is a history professor and it shows.
I didn't realize the author was a history professor. I wish some of the professors I had would have written this well. One of the other things I'm liking about this book is that I don't feel like I can anticipate where the story is headed.

I won't be able to get to this book until this weekend but I am enjoying reading your comments and really looking forward to reading it. Thanks!

This is certainly one where I can't anticipate what is going to happen next. I'm about 3/4 of the way through now, but I'm still not sure where the story is heading. Enjoying it a lot though.
I just picked up this book from the library last week but haven't started it yet. I need to get my butt in gear so it's not due back before I finish reading it! Joining you all in reading it is great incentive to do so! I'll post again with my first impressions once I've read a bit more (I'm currently on page 6 of 579).

Erin, I just finished it this evening. I'm really looking forward to reading more from this author. Sara I hope you like it as much as Erin and I have.
I'm looking forward to more by this author as well. Looks like it might be a while until book two comes out, but I look forward to reading it when it does. Glad you enjoyed it too Julia. Gracie and Sara, hope you both like it!
Just started this book this morning and so far really enjoying it. I'm about 10% done-that's what kindle app says!
I'm about 70% done and loving this book. I really didn't expect to like it this much. I love historical fiction, so the fact that the author is a history professor really shows. Really interesting world she has created here and I love the romance.
Finished the book this morning. Really loved it though I had a few problems- gave it 4 stars but it was closer to 5. Just some little things that bothered me. Looking forward to the sequel.
Glad you liked it Leslie. I love that the author was a historian, you could really tell. I gave it the same rating, and now wait impatiently for the next book. I always say I'm not gonna pick up a new series until there are at least a couple of books already written, but once again I couldn't resist.
