Hi,as far as I know, anyone can add books to the Goodreads database. Editing requires a librarian. Have you tried adding the books you have?
That is what I thought, but every time I try to add a book shows up this message:
"Sorry, only librarians may add books. To apply, click here".
I guess both tasks adding books/covers and editing are in charge of librarians.

Okay, thanks. Can you provide a list of books (titles, ISBNs etc) that you need added?
hmm... can we get a confirmation that books can now only be added by librarians? I tell people all the time that they can add books themselves, so it would be good info to have if they can't.
It made me scratch my head too, especially since I've added books before I became a librarian...Add-on: Maybe this was recently changed to deal with the spammy spam?

I just added a book using a non librarian account and it let me add. It did not let me delete it though.Weird

Thank you so much for adding the above book, Sandra! I can not manually add books, the message "Sorry, only librarians may add books" shows up over and over. It is frustrating!
Why not become a librarian? The guidelines are not hard to understand, it won't take you more than half an hour to read.

Re 15 - does the email address say verified next to it, it is not just if it is correct address you entered but should say verified.GR put in a check that only people with verified email addresses could add books due to spammers if your email is verified then it looks like GR have added another layer of security. We will need to wait for rivka to review when she is next on line.
Next to my email address shows up (verified 09-27-2011).
Also please note that if the book is available on Amazon, searching by ISBN will automatically add the book to the database. So do a search by ISBN for each book before trying to go through the whole rigmarole of entering everything by hand.

Yes. This will only affect new accounts; long-standing users will still be able to add books manually, even if they are not librarians.
I own many books which are not recorded on Goodreads database, for instance ISBN 9788493889227, and would like to add all of them to "My books", but as far as I know I am not allowed to do it since I am not a librarian nor the author of these books. I would like to know as well the process to add missing covers to books I own.
