message 1901: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments They knew not how, not
quite when - the fleeing heiress
had fled once again.

message 1902: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Haha, thanks Al! How are you? Did you take the opportunity to buy some new boots? ;)

message 1903: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments LOL! It's a lovely Summer's day actually in Australia - 27 degrees Celsius. Early afternoon here and I'm just back from a morning surfing at the beach. So, all great here thanks.

Sorry to hear you aren't smiling. Sit down and write something for us all - you have a big fan base here who love your writing style. Guaranteed to bring your smile back :)

message 1904: by Guy (last edited Dec 14, 2012 10:43PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Al, hello! Did you just try to google chat? As I was moving my mouse to your green dot, it went grey. (I was reading your dream - as always, fascinating.)

And I almost forgot! How's the shoulder?

& now I'm off to bed! Good night Al & Ryan.

message 1905: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments The jailer was slouched
at his desk, stone drunk, while the
heiress got away.

The radio whined,
and Jud Strunk sang, “I’ll give you
a daisy a day.”

message 1906: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Fantastic, M! You are too clever.

message 1907: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Rivers run still, four
winds blown away. Jailer sits,
and drinks in dismay.

message 1908: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes, he is, isn't he?! And, Ryan, you are nothing short of being too clever too. That made me LoL!

He drank the river
that jailer to the good gods,
but burst his bladder.

If he'd not been drunk
they'd have only been flooded
without feeling sadder.

message 1909: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments What could be more sad--
what sadder?--than to get drunk
and burst one’s bladder

while a convict gets
free? He grew paler, this soon-
to-be-fired jailer.

message 1910: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Wet-pants wasn't bribed
with cash. When he named his price,
she paid in a flash.

message 1911: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments The judge was dozing
when the phone on the bureau
jolted him awake.

“What?” he mumbled, then
nearly choked on his cigar
when told of the break.

message 1912: by Ryan (last edited Dec 16, 2012 02:20PM) (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments A talent very
hard to beat. A Judge who smokes
cigars in his sleep!

message 1913: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments A man of many
talents, he kept the scales of
justice in balance.

message 1914: by Ryan (last edited Dec 16, 2012 04:35PM) (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments In a land of sin
abounding, noble hearts keep
the beat of Justice.

message 1915: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Thus he paid out the
wages of sin, and put law-
breakers in cages.

It was hard on his
nerves. Smoking in his sleep was
hard on his pocket,

hard on his health, and
made him hard on defendants
lined up on his docket.

message 1916: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Haha, I bow my head to a true master :)

message 1917: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments In the search for truth,
one should never mistake a
courtroom for justice.

message 1918: by Guy (last edited Dec 16, 2012 08:43PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Speaking of hard to keep up, Ryan! HC these are delightful and oh so very, very clever.

She went to seek truth
But found herself distracted
By those bound for hell.

Her mind spun pell-mell
When men were executed
calling her name 'Ruth!"

message 1919: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Outstanding, Guy! And thank you for the compliment :)

message 1920: by Guy (last edited Dec 16, 2012 09:25PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments TY, Ryan. And I laughed when you bowed your head to M, because I have been compelled by his mastery to do the same thing.

As you can see, these things sometimes take on a life of their own and just won't let your imagination go. Great fun!

message 1921: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments When I read Ryan’s #2957, I sat there laughing helplessly, until my wife asked me what was so funny.

Clamped to Old Sparky,
they met their demise--with a
long shock, were dead,

with a lacy bra
over their eyes and an old
lampshade on their head.

message 1922: by Ryan (last edited Dec 17, 2012 04:15AM) (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Feeling light-headed,
the straight-laced pupil struggled
to remove her bra.

message 1923: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments That was funny, Ryan. And now for something very obscure!

With just two classes,
The straight A student's lace bra
Didn't need to stretch.

message 1924: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments ?

message 1925: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Double A.

message 1926: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LoL! Hello Al, great start! You'll always be an A in my eyes! LoL. Okay, rephrase, Al, you'll always be at least a double A!

message 1927: by Hanzleberry (new)

Hanzleberry (doughboyissweet) | 1065 comments What the...?

message 1930: by Hanzleberry (new)

Hanzleberry (doughboyissweet) | 1065 comments Lol... I don't want to know. ;) <3

message 1931: by Hanzleberry (new)

Hanzleberry (doughboyissweet) | 1065 comments Yeees?? Do you want me to visit you or sometink???

message 1932: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Her math teacher--the
oddest--stared at her blouse. She
tried to be modest.

She blushed, “I’m only
Size A”--brightly adding, “as
in neighbor and weigh.”

The sisters’ game had
no known cure. “Do you vant,” she
asked, “To play Blackmoor?”

Their parents, hearing
upstairs pounding, suspected
strangeness abounding.

message 1933: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LoL! So funny, M!

message 1934: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Thank you, Guy! I wrote it while I was ironing, and ran out of steam at the end.

message 1935: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments Ooh, that's fun! I was up until the same time watching NCIS; LA ;D

message 1936: by Guy (last edited Dec 18, 2012 11:25PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments @2990 LoL! '... as / in neighbour and weigh' was soooooo clever!

@2992 RotFL! Such a flat delivery - perfect! And M, I find I know I'm old when the games being played I've never even heard of!

message 1937: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Thank you, Guy!

message 1938: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments A squared or D, does
not matter to me. It's all
algebra, you see.

message 1939: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments At volumetrics,
Yvonne can be a handful
in more ways than one.

message 1940: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Elementary
Dear Watson, it is the curve
that holds the answer.

message 1941: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Only Lord Byron
has the nerve to calculate
such a woman’s curve.

message 1942: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LoL! And, M, your Haiku passed a thread M-ilestone: 3001st! Amazing.

message 1943: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Oh, my! We’ve passed the 3,000 mark.

message 1944: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments On behalf of my muse, who is shy, thank you!

message 1945: by Guy (last edited Dec 19, 2012 10:57AM) (new)

message 1949: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Thank you, Guy, Al & Kat!

Guy and M - you are both so clever, I laugh every time I read through these.

Al, I apologize for my ignorance but I have no idea what P&E is! If it is a blog or similar that you are associated with, you are more than welcome to use anything you like of mine.
