Nurse Lee snickered
sighing with great relief
Another bullet dodged.

In a plump, wide-eyed
scrub tech was lodged the bullet
Nurse Lee deftly dodged.

[Lee]

Now years later with hairs
grey, nurse Lee retold
the story of that day.

[Guy]

The story of Lee
Did not let up or let go
Of the grey matter.

[Lee]

Can't fallow that

[Guy]

Go for it! The seeds you have planted last year will sprout sometime this year! ;-)

Lee smiled and flicked out
the light. “What does it matter,
if gray cells or white?”

[Lee]

Water spewed out of her
companion's mouth in shock
"No difference, imagine that?"

[Guy]

From his too small nose
A fountain it was arose
And sprayed his bare toes.

[Lee]

He shrieked in surprise
at his nose's sudden rise
Thank goodness t'was only his nose!

“Might as well do our
part!” one quipped. The surgical
team had soon unzipped.

[Lee]

Tools and equipment of
all shapes and sizes
assaulted the vision of his eyes.

[Lee]

I looked around but
did not see, anyone
to write haiku with me.

[Ryan]

He's there, you will find -
The phantom of the haiku,
Lee, inside your mind.

[Guy]

Never mind the mind.
It's the mindless mind to find
Wordless mind Haiku.

[Lee]

Now that you're here
writing with me,
My mind has gone blank.

The phantom of the haiku?
The mindless mind?
What sorcery is this!

The Haiku Phantom
will contrive to strike again,
in 5-7-5!

[Lee]

These haiku are tricky
5-7-5's so slippry
But I will survive!

[Guy]

Gloria Gaynor,
Alive where the mind is lost,
Sings in five part feet.

[Lee]

Lee in the audience
sighing in defeat, she
didn't understand a word.

[Guy]

Lol!
[In many cases understanding is over rated, anyway. Something understood today will impede understanding something else tomorrow.]

To survive with will
Is Gloria's cry to arm
Our hearts and walk tall.

[Lee]

Roy, plugging his ears
to Gaynor, found such yowling
a frightful drainer.

Swift, beautiful fox
Run like the wind, run with the wind
Graceful perfect fox

A sensitive piece
Of data, which, if exposed,
Would change everything.

Nurse Lee, hands shaking,
Lifted the scalpel; her eyes
Grazed the doctor's neck.

“A sensitive piece,”
Nurse Lee pondered, “in the old
recorded data . . .”

Finding it, she played
a surgery conducted
by Zubin Mehta.

Sitting and watching attentively
she bit at her nails.
She looked at her watch.

Lee, what a great piece of writing! “. . . she bit at her nails. / She looked at her watch.”

“It’s no good looking
at your watch, Lee,” said CJ.
“It’s just half past three.”

She jumped in shock
taking half her nail off,
Caught red handed.

Interns hit the floor
with a thud, having fainted
at the sight of blood.

[Lee]

Doctor Cj sighed, and cursed
To think they singed up
for the post of 'nurse.'

[M]

The Phantom had struck
once more! A 5-7-5
was scrawled on the door.

[Lee]

Nurse Lee smiled an
innocent smile, checked her watch
and dashed on time.

[C. J., Cool yet firm like ice]

C. J. came in late.
"Just found out I'm a doctor!"
Nurse Lee was surprised.

(That was more of an inside joke, hehe. Should I keep it there? Now I'm self-conscious about it. Lol).

[Lee]

Nurse Lee scowled internally
at the doctor's wit.
'He's new!' "Hello, i'm nurse Smith"

[Guy]

Lee wrote: "Sitting and watching attentively

I agree with M, this is excellent writing.

And what a great sequence, everyone, so much fun.

Lee sat beside the nurses
in the nursing home
brushing cobwebs and dust away .

She blew at the book,
Creating a world wind of dust
Yet, she didn't even care.

For writing haiku was a must
To push her senility away.

(I don't know if that's still a haiku)

colors and stories emerge
of forgotten hope

Out of the brown dust
a world of rainbow transforms
the old into new

Legends of princes
have long since been left behind
joy is in the dirt

Reality finds
itself as the hero now
out of dust comes hope.

The joy enjoined dirt
Danced on sunlit laden dust,
and scoffed at heroes.

The hero replied
"what's sunlight when dragons fly?"
disdain in his eyes

"Dirt won't save you now,
happiness can't buy you friends,
dust is life undone"
