message 7901: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Excellent, Lee and CJ!

They reaped spices, sewed
herbs with rhyme, knotted garlic,
put a stitch in thyme.

message 7902: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments I tried. I don't think this makes any sense though.

They worked hard stitching, sewing
Clueless of proper civilization.
They liked not knowing.

message 7903: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments [This makes great sense! Love it!]

Vibrant ignorance
Resting in nature's harsh grace
Alive until not.

message 7904: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments "They were no more"
He spoke to the students
Littered across the room.

This history class, fairly new
surely entertained
all the attention it drew.

message 7905: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Wow, Lee!

message 7906: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments :) Thanks M :D

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4485 comments Great one Lee! Also Guy, that was such poetic awesomeness! :)

message 7908: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Their clothes were wrinkled,
their books tattered, their teacher’s
thoughts old and scattered.

message 7909: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Strayer | 338 comments Teach needs his coffee
or to replace his lesson
with a DVD.

message 7910: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments He wheezed, nor could help
but chortle. “On DVD,
I’ll be immortal!”

message 7911: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments This idea made him smile
now from curious students
he could hide.

message 7912: by M (last edited Jan 15, 2017 04:28PM) (new)

M | 11617 comments At his office desk
they found him, the bookcases
dust gray around him.

message 7913: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments He coughed and hacked, wiped
his face with a rag
"Is my period up yet?"

message 7914: by Nadia (new)

Nadia | 690 comments He succumbed to sloth
yet he could find no respite
From the nagging guilt.

message 7915: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments “Period?” they laughed,
cheeks swollen. “You’re not yet through
a semicolon!”

message 7916: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments Lol, good one M! Good work Nadia :)

message 7917: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments [ Lol! ]

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4485 comments This one will branch off of M's 8013:

;)

"Kids sit down," the prin-
cipal stated. "Mind the teach;
he buffers lately."

message 7919: by M (last edited Jan 16, 2017 06:04AM) (new)

M | 11617 comments Thank you, Lee! How to follow CJ’s?

Sleep, for him, brought strange
nightmares of tardy students
and wandering bears.

message 7920: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4485 comments The nightmare grew worse
when bears mauled all the late kids.
A wretched system.

message 7921: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Weary of wrecking
ivied halls, the bears headed
for the shopping mauls.

message 7922: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments He jumped awake,
Covered in sweat,
Retirement flirting into his mind.

A bad night's rest can't be
fixed by his small paycheck.
He was wasting time.

message 7923: by Jim (new)

Jim Agustin (jim_pascual_agustin) | 625 comments mauled while shopping shoes,
the man who framed his paychecks
came home with bare feet

message 7924: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4485 comments Went home to relax
Grabbed a box of Honey Nut
Bears showed up again!

message 7925: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments But this time, not only
bears, but also Goldilocks
ready to test the chairs.

message 7926: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (last edited Jan 29, 2017 07:13PM) (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4485 comments The largest bear sat
It was a chance to escape;
the chair was too small.

message 7927: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments :-\ lol!

message 7928: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (last edited Jan 30, 2017 01:36PM) (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4485 comments I realized this just now. One of my favorite things to do on this thread is see if I can make Guy laugh from the haikus! :D

message 7929: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments (Good one CJ, I agree, you know you've written a decent haiku when guy comments or laughs.)

He wigged in the chair
While she tired to disappear
Face flushed with embarrassment.

Hahaha. I know right?

~~~~
Now my addition:
The blind man sat down
Screams echoed the women's room!
He flushed embarrassed.
message 7931: by Guy (new)
Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Ah, the simple things in life. And when simple pleasure go awry? The joy of it is to laugh.
To grin and bear it.
That is the question she thought
While plugging her nose.
message 7932: by Lee (new)
Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments Her pointed nose rose
With the stench's rise
She was almost high.
message 7933: by Guy (new)
Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LOL!
message 7934: by M (new)
M | 11617 comments For all the cafe’s
patrons knew, the stench was just
that lunch hour’s stew.
message 7935: by Lee (new)
Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments "Stew!" She shouted, startling
the waiter, she grabbed
her bag and yelled "Later!"
message 7936: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (last edited Feb 16, 2017 06:19PM) (new)
C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4485 comments "This food is awful!"
man screamed to waiter, tossed plate
Staff hit by 'taters!
message 7937: by Lee (new)
Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments Havoc was raised in the
cafe, they had to close
early for the day.
message 7938: by Guy (new)
Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Havoc was too young
to be embarrassed or shy
about cafe life.
message 7939: by M (new)
M | 11617 comments “They stink,” quipped Havoc,
tongue in cheek, of splattered guests.
“I’m not what they reek.”
message 7940: by Lee (new)
Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments Once again I can't follow those haiku, good twist guys.
message 7941: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)
C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4485 comments Lee wrote: "Once again I can't follow those haiku, good twist guys."
Yep, M and Guy always come up with the best! :)
Doc asked, "Why did you
cut side of mouth, Peake?" "I just
wanted tongue in cheek."
(Wow, that was awful, lol!)
message 7942: by Lee (new)
Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments True.
Not at all awful, I still can't follow though. I'll try again later.
message 7943: by M (last edited Feb 19, 2017 05:15PM) (new)
M | 11617 comments Lee, just throw one out there!
Something that wreaks havoc, such as war or a natural disaster, causes devastation. What I posted was a play on the word wreak.
message 7944: by Lee (new)
Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments I figured half of that out *sigh* i'll try
message 7945: by Lee (new)
Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments Cheek cells magnified
Now no where to hide
All of the evidence.
message 7946: by M (new)
M | 11617 comments Dr. CJ glanced
at nurse Lee. “The scalpel, please,
and soon we will see . . .”
message 7947: by Lee (new)
Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments Nurse Lee was nervous
Looking at Dr. CJ, somehow
She had to stop him
She couldn't let him see
What she had planted
In that civilian's cheeks.
message 7948: by Guy (new)
Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LOL!
message 7949: by Lee (new)
Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments Hello?
message 7950: by M (new)
M | 11617 comments Hi, Lee! I had intended to reply promptly.
CJ, thunderstruck,
let out a howl. The patient’s
woes were cheek by jowl.
