They worked hard stitching, sewing
Clueless of proper civilization.
They liked not knowing.

He spoke to the students
Littered across the room.
This history class, fairly new
surely entertained
all the attention it drew.

"Kids sit down," the prin-
cipal stated. "Mind the teach;
he buffers lately."

Sleep, for him, brought strange
nightmares of tardy students
and wandering bears.

Covered in sweat,
Retirement flirting into his mind.
A bad night's rest can't be
fixed by his small paycheck.
He was wasting time.

Something that wreaks havoc, such as war or a natural disaster, causes devastation. What I posted was a play on the word wreak.
