Let it snow, let it
snow, let it snow--the song goes.
Elsa said, "let it go."

message 7554: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments I wish it would snow
on Christmas Day , but I live
down Australia way.

he bleeds out for love.

message 7558: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments I stumbled across a new derivative form of haiku that seems to be gaining some momentum - Questionku. I thought it might be an interesting style to add to our collection of haiku, senryu, tanka and 5-7-5 from time to time...

Questionku is a new short form by Richard Lamoureux. It consists of three lines:

Line 1: 4 syllables.
Line 2: 5 syllables.
Line 3: A 6-syllable question.

Here's my first attempt -

Twilight swimming,
last kiss of the sun;
do I dare stay under?

message 7559: by Ajay (new)

Ajay (ajay_n) | 1138 comments That's stunning, R!

message 7560: by Ajay (new)

Ajay (ajay_n) | 1138 comments Sorry for trespassing!

Head down under ,
watch kangaroos leap
and think, do I jump too?

message 7561: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Nice one, Ajay ;)

message 7562: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Beautiful, Al!

message 7563: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Clouds before me,
labyrinth behind;
Father, why fear the sun?

message 7564: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments For few have heard of,
fewer seen, a past so dark
and labyrinthine!

message 7565: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments He sang of cobwebbed
halls’ stone steps, of lime slices
and bottles of Schweppes.

message 7566: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments Bottles of Schweppes
he drank, when he'd let
loose it really stank.

message 7567: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments No sooner opened
his privy door, townfolk fled
wildly to the moor.

message 7568: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments Nice one M.

message 7569: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Thank you, Lee-lette! Yours was fun to follow.

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4485 comments It sent the crocs near
by the tents to those shelters
to avoid the stench.

message 7571: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments They drifted downstream,
lurked awhile, as time ticked by
on the Croc-O-Dial.

message 7572: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments The Croc-O-Dial signaled,
so crocks drew near
feet and hands disappeared.

message 7573: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments M wrote: "Thank you, Lee-lette! Yours was fun to follow."

No problem. I can return the words now :)

message 7574: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (last edited Dec 30, 2015 08:25PM) (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4485 comments But some paused when faced
with a man in his croc shoes;
No feet to lay waste!

message 7575: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments He guessed her shoe size,
but was wrong. Her crocodiles
were seven feet long.

message 7576: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments He was footloose, a
poor guesser; she was classy,
a snappy dresser.

message 7577: by Ryan (last edited Jan 06, 2016 12:40AM) (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments that summer with you
left me a map, for finding
sunshine in winter

message 7578: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Beautiful, Ryan!

Her husbands found it
easy to plot fair weather:
where Hilda was not.

message 7579: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Thanks, M. RightBackAtcha

message 7580: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Where the plot thickens
There quickens a plaintive voice,
Its plea for Hilda.

message 7581: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments Hilda was wanted
her head priced high
oh well! time to die.

message 7582: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LOL! Nice Lee-lette.

message 7583: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments How to live? The die
was cast. She quickly became
an iconoclast.

message 7584: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Lady Luck discards
her disguise, leaves poor Hilda
gazing at snakes eyes.

message 7585: by M (last edited Jan 08, 2016 06:30AM) (new)

M | 11617 comments Life, a week ago,
had been sweet. Alas! “On white,”
she sighed, “or en huit ?”

message 7586: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments The eighth was enough.
Her fantasy was revealed
to have been human.

message 7587: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments She pondered their strange
modernity: trinity
and quaternity.

message 7588: by Nadia (new)

Nadia | 690 comments The three is but one
Their motivations would prove
There is not one left

message 7589: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments Not one left?
that can't be right
All hope is now lost.

message 7590: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments [That is very good, Lee-lette. And funny, to me, because I was visiting family in the town of Hope, 90 minutes east.]

message 7591: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments Thanks Guy :)

message 7592: by M (last edited Jan 13, 2016 01:19AM) (new)

M | 11617 comments How to follow Lee-lette’s?

Incautious and deft,
mad with insight, she soon left
and fled through the night.

message 7593: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments She fled on the edge,
Her line between dawn and dusk,
Found in the shadows.

message 7594: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Her fate, rather than
adumbrated, she’d have liked
more clearly stated.

message 7595: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments As she drove away
I blew a kiss, not knowing
it would be our last.

message 7596: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Her car exploded
as she sped past. Otherwise
she’d have had a blast.

Equals speed of life.

message 7598: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Determination
Gives both the mouse and the man
A plan for success.

message 7599: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments From way down under,
the down found down there is soft
determination.
The mouse's tail has its tales,
And selfies without blue cheese.

message 7600: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Evenings brought squawkings
of parrots, a seamstress’ smile,
and stubs of carrots.
