Haiku

scales of delusion that hid
from her the sad truth.
(sorry - don't think I can do funny haiku!)

And not only are such deconstructions allowed, they are encouraged and embraced! Excellent haiku.
And a very good philosophical Haiku Nicky, amongst my favourite form of Haiku. And if you hang around here long enough
a funny haiku
soon will happen to you too,
nothing you can do.

Nice Jocilene, welcome to Haiku thread :)
I agree, Guy :)
I agree, Guy :)

held the shinning moon up high

the cold stormy night.
Snow covered all like a
soft pillow of white.
(This was a joint effort - concept by my 4yr old Hazel - help with structure by me! She did have a last line if we'd had room which was 'waiting for the morning light - but we couldn't fit it in) )

The voice of the lovers
Bewitched for the very first time
A vanilla scream
Gasps.. back and forth, here and there
Rose slowly through their brownish skins

her goosebumps shiver
underneath her tongue, steamy
as a caramel
macchiato -- their red lips
offer tribute to the gods.

Its wings touched by dawn,
a firefly still against glass.
Too late for cupped hands.
... sorry... as you were...)

Sugar like silk,
pure as milk. Huddled together.
Making the gods consider,
this paradise inwhich to wither
sugar canes tied up
with strings moved back and forth with
ev'ry gust of wind
with strings moved back and forth with
ev'ry gust of wind

She began to see the sun
Move like molasses
Down into the horizon
With her memories and rum.

She woke face down on the floor
Shivering alone.
The thick blankets under her
Were warm with her tale to tell.

sealed with tears
Telling her story
unraveling her fears
Only her and her blanket know...
all the troubles her world bestows

The tears of his tales
About distant stars not known
Warm her with could be.
The darkness around them both
No longer chills their ardor.

Cocked her ears to hear his mews
Then mewed him to her
Before finding the alley
Wherein she would be amused.
