message 6197: by Paula Tohline (new)

Paula Tohline Calhoun (paulatohlinecalhoun) | 493 comments Inside each artist
inspiration can reveal
if eggs have appeal.

Often they will choose
to draw what instincts tell them,
then boil and shell them.

message 6198: by Paula Tohline (last edited Jul 26, 2014 04:09PM) (new)

Paula Tohline Calhoun (paulatohlinecalhoun) | 493 comments What is it about
the unrequited haiku
that drives me koo-koo?

I want the real truth!
Is it me you don't care for,
or just my haiku?

I need sympathy.
Lying in my bed of pain,
my pelvis broken.

That is not to say
you've injured me in that way,
but it's lonely here.

From blogs to Goodreads
on my tablet I wander,
seeking words from you.

Kind words would be nice,
but if you're not so disposed,
I'll take a sharp slice.

Snarking and sniping
serve the ailing better than
being left in peace.

Don't read these haikus
as complaints poorly wrtten!
They are, but so what?

Anyone out there
with seventeen syllables
for bedridden grumps?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Alas, my dear mateys! I am carrying on with my pitiful life here in sick-bay, while you are all up there on deck having a marvelous time doing anything but checking in on your poor ol' seafaring pal. I hope that this way over-the-top bit of (ahem!) writing has stirred you enough to respond to my pitiable request. What I would love for you to read for me is my initial draft of Chapter One of my as yet untitled new humor/mystery that I am going to post on my "Your Writing" page here on the
WSS&Co. group section set up for such purposes (I assume!).

Any help, suggestions, blahs, or Bravos! will be accepted bravely or joyfully, and will keep me from writing more insipid crap like the above haikus out of utter boredom. I have found myself unable to studiously spend all my time in constant editing of my poetry for my soon-to-be self-published collection of poetry.

Thanks to all of you! In all seriousness, you have all been wonderful and generous, helpful and kind to me throughout my "up and down, in and out" service here on our good ship Lolliflop.

M | 11617 comments Dragon ships under
a sky wild with stars approached
a moonlit headland.

Hungry for plunder,
rested from wars, they soon slid
up on the soft sand.

message 6200: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments (Yikes! A broken pelvis. Paula, how did that happen? It sounds exceedingly painful, and you’re probably in for a long recovery. I’m sorry to have taken so long to reply.)
