behind the eight ball
mosey cat in the alley
scrawny and hungry

Mandy Blake | 1231 comments Cocaine kitty cat,
tweaking on the window sill,
where is you next high?

message 5214: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Bumping and speeding
down life's jagged highway, cat's
eyes shine in the night.

message 5215: by [deleted user] (new)

The insomnia
of a mangrove's fisher cat
hunting and wild eyed.

Mandy Blake | 1231 comments Nocturnal rainbows,
guiding dark feline designs,
to purrfect conquest.

message 5219: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Nice, Mandy! Great play on words, and 'nocturnal rainbows' is such an evocative phrase. Great writing everyone.

Dark felines design
to conquer the nocturnal world
while eating breakfast.

message 5220: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Guy!

message 5221: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Without betrayal
death descends. A panther's kiss

message 5222: by Mandy (new)

Mandy Blake | 1231 comments Five of nine lives left,

message 5228: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments Her very last life,
was taken with a wet splash,
falling in the pool.

message 5229: by Mandy (new)

Mandy Blake | 1231 comments It was no kitty,
the wet gremlin turned into
many. Don't feed them!!!

Across the barren moor
He rode, witches curse unheard,
Dark fate entwines.

message 5237: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Beautiful writing, Nicky. Your dark imagery is very nice.

This thread generally sticks to a 5-7-5 syllable layout for conformity. Sometimes it drifts into 5-7-5-7-7 as well.

Or your bones I will bury,
Leaving just your soul.

message 5239: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments Soul left in fragments
after hearing your singing:
That's how bad it was.

message 5240: by [deleted user] (new)

No melody will
ever form when all we do
is clash like cymbals.

Sorry, it's been a while :D

message 5241: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments Cymbals or symbols?
Homonyms are my weakness,
I sadly admit.

Ann stood no chance

Mandy Blake | 1231 comments Ann wanted one man,
but many showed up instead.
How would she choose one?

message 5247: by Ryan (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments She tripped as she ran,
But before she could fall down,
Prince Charming caught her.
