Stephen King reading a chapter from his upcoming sequel to "The Shining"

Thanks to "The Simpsons" Tree House of Horrors I always hear "The Shinning" when I read the title "The Shining".http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0701281/q...

I heard about this recently and I just can't get excited for it. If he had done this just a few years after The Shining came out, maybe, but it's been decades. I would much rather have had King in his prime tell this story than the King who put out Cell and Under The Dome.

You are absolutely right. Other than it being a bit long, I was enjoying the book until that ending spoiled it. I'll have to give Duma Key a try, I haven't read that yet.

I enjoyed Under The Dome immensely, and yes, the ending kinda was crappy. Dooma Key peaked my interest, but I didn't like it as much as Under teh Dome. I can't wait for 11/22/63 to come out being an alternate history fan, I can't picture what King will do with this.
I haven't read all of Stephen King's novels but I have read "The Shining" and it is one of my favorites. I hope King does as good a job on the sequel as he did on the original book.
