He motioned to another beanbag. "You don't need to sit on the floor. Plenty of furniture right here. And its homework, its not meant to be entertaining."
"Yeah, I guess." He shrugged and returned to his book. At this rate, there was no chance of getting more information about her and she was beginning to ask some personal question, not good. Something didn't seem right about her.

"The campus is pretty big." He nodded, not even turning to look at her. "It has to be." Would she shut up? Probably not. But acting anti-social or acting social, neither seemed to change her reaction.

Somebody randomly threw a book at the window, perhaps they didn't like it. Callie noticed it out of the corner of her eye. She got up and in a flash she started to run, she whisked over the top of bookshelves with ease. She dove towards the book and the window edging. Callie grabbed onto the edge and hoisted herself up to grab the book out of the air before it could hit the glass. She did this all within seconds.
((Much, thanks))
Jonathan noticed the sudden burst of movement, turning to see Callie move. Interesting. Her superspeed also seemed to give her heightened leaping capabilities while in motion. She seemed much more useful than she had before. He feigned surprise. "Wow." He said softly. "That was incredible."

"Why thank you," she said, suddenly appearing next to him. She looked at the torn edge of the book,"I sure hope they can fix that." Thoughts started run through her head like crazy,I wonder if he could beat me in a mtach, by my guess, maybe. Was it really necessary for me to go save the window from destruction? Probably not. Does he really care? Probably not. I'm not much to keep tabs on anyways. I sure as heck ain't the brightest crayon in the box when it comes to socializing. Annoying blonde, yep, that's me alright.
"Seriously, that was impressive. I mean, you said you were fast but wow. That was fast." He got up slowly from his sitting position. "I've seen a lot of people's powers in action here at NGA but that was probably one of the coolest ones I've seen."

"I can handle myself. I've been training a decent amount since I came after the incident that landed me here." He touched his nose gently, a motion that seemed almost subconscious. "But my power itself is nowhere near as useful as yours."

"So can you. All mine is good for is fighting. Your's has tons of purposes." Sometimes he wished he had a different power, one with more non-combat uses. But he knew that it wasn't his power that made him special, it was his manipulative capabilities. "But whatever. It was just cool to see your power in action."

((K, deleting spam.))
"Your welcome, though it is a compliment well deserved." He cocked his head. It was a gamble but it was worth it. "Would you like to? See my power in action, I mean."

"Who said that we are going to fight against each other?" He feigned surprise again. "I was just saying I'd beat up a few practice dummies for you. I'd get my butt kicked if we went toe to toe."

"I dunno. From what I've seen, you are pretty good with your powers." He shrugged. "If you insist, I'd fight. But I hate getting beat up for no reason."

"I'll poke around campus and email you when I find a good place." He gave a brief nod and began to walk off.

Jake flipped another page, oblivious to the girl and the computer and absorbed into his book.

The twinge started to turn into an ache, the ache turning into a throb. Not again, Asmera thought, forcefully tearing her eyes from the screen, breaking the spell. Reaching out with a sigh, she closed the laptop and buried her face in her hands. "Damnit," she whispered to herself.

The curse broke through his mental barriers. His ears, it seemed, where specially trained to pick up cuss words. Jake looked up sharply, staring at the girl. "Is something wrong?" he asked, the traces of disapproval in his tone making it clear he didn't approve of her usage of the colorful word. In his time, he had grown tired of such langauage, and at this point, he wasn't going to stand for it.
