Katerina and also: if you feel the need to make really popular threads on how much you hate main characters or just the books in general, WHY ON EARTH DID YOU READ THEM?! ok, maybe you read the first 2, didn't like them, so what? why did you read all the way up to Breaking Dawn? but if you read the books just so you can write stuff about how much you hate them, PLEASE GO AWAY FROM THESE MESSAGE BOARDS.
thank you.

Nalu.chan first, that might be the stupidest name someone could give to their child. So I think I might hate Bella for that (she was the one who put it, despite everyone thinking it strange).
Second, she had to exist so there could be a plot on fourth book. But I didn't like it also, cause it just made the ending (who everybody already knew it was going to be cliché) into a MAJOR cliché - "and then, she got married, had a kid, and their family lived happily ever after with eternal beauty, youth and rainbows..." bah! I wish someone would have died (I know is morbid) - some major character, so we could have a twist in the story and some unhappiness (until we can achieve the happily ever ending)- if the battle in the movie was real I was going to be soooo happy.
third, the author had to do something with Jacob (and I've gotta admit that the imprinting thing didn't bugger me at all).

Katerina same :)

Of course I love her! You only dislike her because your team Jacob? If you are team Jacob, wouldn't you want him to be happy? He is happy!

message 255: by Sierra (new) - rated it 4 stars

Sierra It's not Jacobs fault that he imprinted on Renesme. Infact it makes sense considering that he was so attracted to Bella. I didn't like how animated Renesme looked in the final film, but i think that Stephanie Meyer made the right choice in giving Bella and Edward a baby. It just makes their love story all the more great.

Yeah, in the movie, you can see the CGI but i looked passed it cuz i loved the movie, but i love the jacob/renesmee thing! i think it finally makes sense!

Katerina yeah. stephanie meyer never knew how they were going to make BD a movie, because of nessie.

Me too. I think it's very creative and cute!

Jessica Did anyone else think the baby in the movie was freaky?!

Katerina she was CGI-ed, because babies like Nessie don't exist

message 263: by Sharon (new) - rated it 4 stars

Sharon Davies For me the final film was good, but, yeah the more I thought about it afterwards, I felt that the last film was not long enough to establish a real connection with Renesme and Edward and Bella. The book is far better in capturing the dynamics between Renesme, Edward, Bella and Jacob. The film didn't flow. I thought perhaps that Kristen may not be capable of acting the part of a Mother, but no it wasn't her - I believed she was a Mother, but I didn't really know who to. There was a disparity from the book to the film. And for me, there was not enough of Bella being a vampire. I wanted more of that! The last book if it was being adapted for cinema should have been the second last book. The Bella marrying Edward, Jacob losing Bella, Bella becoming pregnant, dying becoming a vampire, Jacob and Renesme should have been one whole book, with the last book continuing and building on all these differeing dynamics and ending with the fight or non-fight. Bella isn't a vampire long enough for me in Breaking dawn and the changing of Bella's and Edwards relationship is too short.

Autumn i agree with clara and elena

message 265: by Laura (new) - rated it 3 stars

Laura I was just thankful that something happened other then Bella having to choose who she loves the most and all of that stupid stuff, and then just having sex all the time with Edward! It's so frustrating! Breaking Dawn was my favourite book because of this. It was an interesting storyline unlike the first three when it's just about her love for Edward and Jacob and who she would choose!

Katerina same. people think that it's weird or stupid or something, but my mom and i think it's an adorable name.

you're so right!!

Karli Personally, I love Renesme. But when Jacob imprinted on her I'm like "Oh I'm almost done with this sandwich you want that too, Jacob?"

Katerina lolz jacob is SO ANNOYING. i hate him.

Katerina and he's like a freaking rapist in eclipse

Katerina I'm sorry, but I honestly didn't understand those last two comments. I didn't mean he was a rapist to Ness, I meant to Bella. In Eclipse.

Katerina can we get something straight, please? nessie is spelled R-E-N-E-S-M-E-E.

Yeah ... it is sligtly disapointing that everythig ends so well and not only in this book in all of them, dont get me wrong I like happy endings, but they have to be tempered with something negative or it is not realistick.
And I wrealy wanted them to fight with volturi. They would have totaly won.

Arianna9 Ay that i agree with but i still like renesme.

Sophia wrote: "i could not despise renesme more. why do bella and edward like her? not to mention jacob... <3 j, but seriously, she was JUST born!!"
Precisely.
Why I dislike Renesmee:
1. The name.
2. Yes, I KNOW she is just a little kid but that doesn't change the fact that she's a Mary Sue.
3. I want Jeah. I REALLY want Jeah!

Katerina omg Jeah FTW!!!
btw, to be honest, what do people have against Mary Sues? are they like, jealous or something? lol

Your not thinking out side of the box. Right now all Jacob want to do is protect her like a big brother would. Think out side the box.

It is very convenient though how the feelings of the imprinter will match what is appropriate. It is also very convenient that Renesmee will stop aging at age 18 and not earlier.

I have a general question on imprinting, and that is, if the person a werewolf imprints on is bound to return those feelings (whatever they may be)? Or could they also hate them or be oblivious to their existence? And when Jacob's dead, will Renesmee pine for him for the rest of her eternal life?

Brittany I actually wondered that myself lol. I thought well if a guy imprinted on me and just met him and he's all obsessive like cuz he is trying to protect me and take care of me...I would be like okay...back off bud lol. But it does seem like in the movie every time someone imprinted on a person that person returned the feelings. Although I wondered how that would work for seth's sister (whose name I cannot remember), I wanted to know the person she would imprint on lol.

Michelle Love Renesme! I thought that her existance explained much of the previous three books. That said, imprinting / falling in love romantically with a baby is a little messed up.

message 286: by [deleted user] (new)

I dont like the actress that plays her because i think that they look completely different, however she is kind of cute. It is still quite weird though

Jacob:Bella, I love you!
Bella:Well I don't love you. Sorry
Jacob:Fine then. If I can't have you I'm going to imprint on your daughter

I thought Renessmee was a perfect component for the story, but I guess everyone has their own thoughts and beliefs.

I really didn't care for it either! I liked the series up to that point and then I'm just like huh?
I get it that Meyer wanted everyone to be happy in the end but she could of done it in so many different ways! To me I think the series could of ended just fine after book 3

message 294: by Leann (new) - rated it 1 star

Leann I remember when the first Twilight came out in 2008. I was excited to see the movie and then I wanted to read the books so I did! The first three were good but the last one took me for a loop and completely out of the story
I get that Meyer wanted Edward and Bella to be happy and I get that Meyer wanted Jacob to be happy however in my opinion the series could of ended on a good note after book 3. I think that she could of easily had the final battle and then a final chapter or Epilogue that talked about Edward and Bella getting married, her changing and them being happy
Jacob could of had his happiness too
I know some people will disagree with me and that's fine but I think that Breaking Dawn was pushing it

message 296: by KarmaSc0rpi0n (last edited Jan 07, 2017 10:04PM) (new) - rated it 1 star

KarmaSc0rpi0n She is the most forced and contrived character throughout the whole series. People complain about Bella being a Mary Sue? Well enter Renesemee—she loved by everyone (which is super creepy by the way), literally perfect in all ways shapes and forms, the specialest baby on the planet which turns into specialest hybrid on the planet because she's the only one who's mother survive, and she's the most powerful being because she's the only one who can get through Bella's sheild. Some may argue she's too young to be a Mary Sue, but due to her over development she's mature enough to have a definitive personality which she absolutely doesn't because she's a plot device designed to solve every conflict the series has to offer and not even well. She makes pretty much New Moon and Eclipse pointless. You could read Twilight and Breaking Dawn and the entire story would still make sense and actually be more cohesive all because of the induction of Renesemee. She made all the werewolves irrelevant and pretty much pointless to the story because again you could take them out and the story would be the exact same and more cohesive.

What makes her even worse to me is that you can tell by the way she is written that her only purpose is as a plot device to placate Jacob and his fans and it failed miserably. She makes no sense biologically, she should be colder than your average human and grow at a slower rate due to her half vampire physiology, but she grows too fast and is about the same temperature as Jacob and 24 chromosomes just like Jacob—unless there's something Bella's not telling us, Renesemee makes no sense genetically. Plus imprinting is about breeding and with the logic used for her chromosomes she should be just like a mule—sterile/barren meaning their imprint is actually pointless.

Renesemee is a plot hole of a character who serves no purpose in the series except for wish fulfillment and that's why I hate her.

Avery Young I love Renesmee in some ways and hate her in others. I love her because she is a great addition to the story, and really shapes who Bella and Edward are. I hate her because Jacob freaking CLAIMED her! I've never been a fan of Jacob, and this makes it so he is active in their life!

message 299: by Global (new) - added it

Global Donnica lol I was in both teams but I must say both Edward and Jacob were so intriguing. Then Resnesme came along... not so sure how I feel about her.... would have been great to have more of a dynamite with Rosalie and Emmet

KarmaSc0rpi0n Avery wrote: "I love Renesmee in some ways and hate her in others. I love her because she is a great addition to the story, and really shapes who Bella and Edward are. I hate her because Jacob freaking CLAIMED h..."

You see I hated her for the reason you loved her, she didn't really add anything to Bella and Edward's relationship because they were only parents to her when it was convenient. Their kid was basically pawned off on everyone else so their relationship stayed exactly the same—obsessive and boring.

Although I know what you mean about Jacob, but I actually liked him which is why I hate that he's stuck in their lives forever. He never gets to move on and actually be happy. He's stuck fawning over the spawn of a girl he used to love in basically a magic filled haze that took his choices away once again. And if Renesemee chooses not be with him he'd be stuck devoted to a girl that doesn't want him stuck in a loop of disappointment for all eternity except this time he has absolutely no say in it. I think SM was like you in not liking Jacob or else she wouldn't have done that to his character.
