It's a Scottish word meaning to fish with one's hands. It's also slang for look it up yourself.

Yes I know now the other meaning but only because I looked it up after you said ..shocked wasnt the word for it ,glad I didn't ask someone if they had guddled !!!!

I use guddle all the time ... I is a method of fishing .And it is also used as a term for a mess..
