it just because he saw grigory getting killed in the goblet of fire. i think that his parents don't count :)

Janie Hm. Another discussion? Harry and Ginny. That seems WAY out of the blue. All of a sudden he is starting to think strange thoughts about Ginny, and then kicking himself to remind him that she's Ron's sister. This change from the early books, when Ginny just about fainted whenever she saw Harry to being Ms. Popular and going out with people... I mean, I sort of understand why Harry might've fell for Cho at first, because of her Quiddich (SP?) skills. Plus she was nice (I guess). But then Ginny, what if she wasn't Ron's sister?

Lindis Russell I don't think that Harry and Ginny were "out of the blue" I guess I just saw it coming. It happens alot in life. You live around someone, like your best friend's sister, and of course you care for them. But then you don't see them as "date" material until someone throws it in your face. I think that when Ginny started dating, Harry probably felt the same way Ron did. But he wasn't vocal about it, like Ron was. Then he thought to himself, "she should be with me, not him" then dismissing the idea, because he thought Ron would be angry with him. And then it took Hermione to really make him really realize that he loved her.

It would have been really strange for Harry to have feelings for Ginny in books 1 2 and 3 they were just too young. Well, we know that Ginny was smitten with Harry at book one, but Girls are like that. Most boys at the age of 11 and 12 still think girls are gross, depending on their upbringing. And Harry was pretty sheltered, or a few better words, hidden, caged, etc. Plus, Harry was just too busy discovering who he was and what his past was in the first three books to worry about girls. And that whole defeating a dark Lord thing.

And I think you're right. At the time, Harry had more in common with Cho. And as far as he knew, Ginny wasn't interested in him anymore. He and Cho were in the same year, and Quidditch. But then when Ginny started really dating, it brought her into a different light. He really knew her better, having spent time at her home. Heck, he thought of her home as his too really! And Ginny was a Gryffindoor, and she did play Quidditch.

It's hard to say, If she wasn't Ron's sister, would he have fallen for her. I'd like to think so. So, I rambled alot, but that's what I think. : )

Lindis Russell Janie wrote: "Either it's a plot hole, or he didn't remember that and that was enough although he could here his mother screaming when the dementors came around."

I always thought that Harry was too young to grasp what happened to his mom. He just saw a green light and his mom fell. At first, Harry didn't know who the woman he could hear screaming was when the dementors was around him. Maybe that had something to do with it.

This one would be a good one for J.K. to answer when Pottermore gets going. WHEN it get's going!!!!!

Order of the Phoenix I think. I don't know why, but I do. I think that Kristen says it pretty good. Books 1 and 2, too young. 3 friendship love.

Kristen has a good point in book 4, too. I think the seed was planted around the Yule Ball. : ) There are a few conflicts in book 4 though. She was being yanked between the two of them most of the time. Ron and Harry were fighting throughout the book, so It would be hard to fall in love with a guy when he was being a prat to your other best friend. And you have to admit, Viktor Krumm was quite a distraction! But by the end of the book I think she realized that she didn't want to end up with a boy like him.

Order of the Phoenix gave Ron and Hermione time to bond because Harry was distancing himself from them. With his "oh poor me pitty party" routine. He didn't open up to them much and I think that gave them time to find each other.
