The October 2011 Book is Robopocalypse, by Daniel H. Wilson. It received 14 of the 63 votes in our poll, with 10 choices!
Next month, I'll again list only the first 10 nominations in the poll, so if you want your choice listed for voting, be sure to nominate early! I'm also going to start the thread for nominations again earlier in the month, around October 7th, so that we can start voting around October 15th for a week, and have the last week of October to load up our nook with our book!(or get on the local waiting list at the libary).
As always, start posting your discussion of this book in this thread, whenever you start reading it and feel like talking about it.
I started to read this book yesterday and really enjoyed the concept that we as humans had pushed our need to create things so far that it had made us no longer a needed species in the Robots eyes. I was really looking forward to reading about how the humans won the war and proved that we will do anything to stay alive but I had to stop reading during the chapter at the Frogurt store. The profanity was just too much for me. I can handle it in small doses but just a constant stream is not for me. I can't wait to read what others felt about the book because I do like the topic. Just wanted to warn any others out there that are picky on what they read.
