How to hit #1 on Amazon...
The post isn't mine. It was posted by someone named Sherry. There's no delete button by it on my screen. Put up yesterday at 5 PM. It looks like snippets of posts made by me and a few others, including some personal messages. I have no idea why it's posted or what it means. Sherry? Would you pull that post down?
Sandy, and everyone else, I have gone in and deleted message 2307 as requested, only for it to turn into 2306 and there is no delete button for that one.I DID reply to one of Sandy's comments, but did not post the message that is now appearing.
Please accept my apologies for any disruption and concern created by this, and if anyone knows how it can be removed/rectified, please let me know what to do.
He Sherry, I think you should be able to go to the bottom of your message on the lower right hand side there should be an option to "edit" - try clicking on that.Good luck!
Many thanks Tom, I went in and deleted the wierd content and simply added a 'thanks' to you for your help :-)
Thanks for pulling it down, Sherry! I think we have a poltergeist! The 'net is fooling with us. But no more.
Just posted a review of "Life of Death" very very different book.http://reviewmybookonamazon.wordpress...
Life of Death
Well, I have not read and reviewed erotic stories before, but made an exception for a couple of tales by "summer daniels". Well written, explicit in volume 2 but not trashy. If this is your sort of thing, check them out:http://reviewmybookonamazon.wordpress...

Made it just in time for the holidays! If folks would be willing to pop by the Amazon page and click “like” or some of the tags, maybe add the new book to your shelf, post your review, etc. – I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much and good luck with the writing!

The Inverted Cavern: Book two in the acclaimed series
WHEN TRAVELING THROUGH TIME, EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED
Aaron and Jake received a message from the Amish boy they had returned a hundred years back in time, proving their experiment had been a success. When they discover the diary containing entries of their own adventures, it gives them the confidence to explore the past and future for themselves. They made careful preparations—thought of every possibility—and took every precaution.
So how could everything go so incredibly wrong?

I'd like to see what some tags for my memoir/travel/sailing/MS book can do. Could you tag me? I'm starting to do the same for books mentioned here.Right Now Is Perfect
Carol, Looks like a terrific book. Mine is Scarecrow Gods. I won the Bram Stoker Award for Best First Novel a few years ago. Maybe you could check out the tags there for me.
Weston, Your book looks remarkable. Congratulations. I did my 'liking' and tagging on the Amazon site--I was the first. Thanks!
they should migrate the categories automatically. It's not like they're different books, right? Thanks
Marilyn, Weston, I always thought the reviews and tags applied to both kindle and paperback--but I will investigate! Thank you both!
Marilyn,Thanks for the tip about Kindle tags being distinct from the paperback edition. I was wrong and am glad you pointed it out.
Weston,
I agree they should migrate tags, like they do reviews. But they don't!
We should include our Kindle link

Todd, I don't mean to come across as a jerk, but I'm not sure how posting reviews you've written on your blog are relevant to this thread, which is about tips for getting noticed on Amazon and ways we can support each other related to Amazon. Perhaps there is a different thread that is more appropriate for such postings as they confuse the content of this thread.
Sandy wrote: "Uh. Did I say something to offend you, Larry? Kind of surprising have all that hostility coming at me. I've been a nonparticipant on Goodreads for years, even though somehow I managed to attract 1,..."Sandy, Sorry I was unclear, the comment wasn't directed at you, but at the mention that John Locke doesn't use Goodreads. Also a general observation based on the numerous amateurs who are flooding the market and thus making it more difficult for good works to advance. Everyone is doing quid-pro-quo five-star reviews that make all the review meaningless.
You are exaggerating, Larry, about "everyone" doing quid-pro-quo reviews. I have never asked anyone to write me a positive review, and I am in a fairly large writer's group on Goodreads, and I can tell you that no one in that group has ever asked or suggested a quid pro quo review. And knowing them to some extent virtually, I don't think they are the type who would do that, as best as I can judge them.I have asked authors if they were interested in my book based on the general description of it and would they want to review it. But I expect them to be honest in their response to it. All the pre-release reviews I came by were honest reactions from fellow authors who I believe have their own reputations to protect by not promoting books that they actually don't like. I directly told them that I didn't want them to give me a pre-release blurb if they didn't like it; don't fake it.
I'm not suggesting that some authors aren't doing this but to say "everyone" is an extreme exaggeration. None of the authors I have interacted with personally on Goodreads in other groups or through direct connection with would do that.
David wrote: "Todd, I don't mean to come across as a jerk, but I'm not sure how posting reviews you've written on your blog are relevant to this thread, which is about tips for getting noticed on Amazon and ways..."Hi David,
I started this thread as a "Tagging thread" years ago and it was a place where authors could learn about tagging and join a tagging blog that I ran for a number of years. I used to do reviews of a number of author's books on that blog and posted them here as well. We had quite a community of hundreds of authors.
After a few years, I discontinued the tagging blog but authors requested I continue to review their books so I started a new review blog and simply kept posting book reviews here.
I agree it doesn't make much sense anymore to post them here.
T
Ah, I see. Thanks for the explanation, Todd. I guess I'd have to read through 2354 messages to realize you were a founder. That was nice of you to do; maybe we can just start a new thread of author's reviews of authors.
David wrote: "Ah, I see. Thanks for the explanation, Todd..."You bet.
I think it was just habit I kept posting here. Glad you pointed it out.
I would love to get some "honest" reviews on MYTHICA: GENESIS to help spread the word about this terrific epic fantasy novel! Suggestions and interest are appreciated! Enjoy the moments!
Hi Todd,How well I remember those tagging days - I thought we did very well in boosting other writer's work at the time.
Over the years, you very kindly reviewed my three previous books, Ferryman, And the Devil Laughed, and Blood Opal -- would you be willing to continue the practice and review my fourth crime fiction novel, Flash Harry?
It is due for release in about 5-7 weeks. If you agree, I would of course, provide you with a paperback copy, which I will send by post to you once I have received the books myself. If, as a prelim, you want to see the back page blurb and book cover, I can send you those now. If it doesn't seem any sense to post it here, where would you send it?
kind regards,
Carole

Yeah, weird about your post. You should have a section at the lower right that shows up on your post when you log in that says "reply|edit|delete" etc. Hit "edit" and you should be able to delete all the extra stuff and repost.
