Hi Vared - The cover art was done by Julie Fain (she has a fantasy art line and is terrific to work with).

I got through tagging everyone in this comment section and am now working my way though the blog.

And Vancouver won the hockey game. yay!

Elizabeth - I think it does. I was wondering the same thing and looked at the recommendations. They are based on "recently viewed."

After you're done tagging, perhaps you could do some searches for your favourite books to counteract it! :-)

Preferred tags are thriller, love story and adventure.

Lenore Wolfe | 25 comments You've been liked, clicked and tagged:)

message 2066: by Danika (new)

Danika Dinsmore (danika_dinsmore) I've seen several comments here about not being able to "tag" books on GoodReads, yet when you search for books under "genre" books pop up with the # of tags in that genre indicated.

I realized as I was reviewing a book that "bookshelf" and "tag" are the same thing. It even has it listed as "bookshelves/tags" when you are in edit more for a review.

So, we might think about doing some tagging here, too... although, yes, it's a lot of work. :-)

Jill (jillrryan) | 11 comments THanks Bev and others. Tagged and liked you back.

By the way, does anyone know if we have to tag Kindle editions separately once they are connected on Amazon? I'm working on getting the print and Kindle connected - it will just take time.

Thanks for all your help!

My Kindle has to be tagged separately. I think it depends on how your publisher sets up the editions. Thanks for asking because I've kept reminding people. Here's mine:

http://www.amazon.com/Fresh-Start-Sum...
Bev

message 2082: by Jill (new)

Jill (jillrryan) | 11 comments Bev, thanks for replying. I did a little research and answered my own question. For others - go to your Amazon Author Central page and make sure both editions are listed in your bibliography.

Then, scroll down and click the contact customer service link. I sent them a ticket asking them to connect both of the editions. Now, the title appears one time, but there is a new section called "Formats" where viewers can click the type they prefer. It then shows/combines all tags and reviews no matter which edition they were posted to.

Good luck all,
Jill

That's terrific, thanks, Jill. I think I'll ask my publisher first if they made them separate for some reason, just in case, but I'm so glad to know it's so easy to link them up. Will make FB and Goodreads ads easier to use.

message 2098: by Christina (new)

Christina Garner | 25 comments Heads up, everyone.
Tags for e-books have disappeared. Ones for print books disappeared for 24 hours, but for e-books they remain gone. Some reading over on the Kindle forums indicate that they were being abused for self-promotion and were no longer informative for the average reader, and were therefor disabled.

message 2099: by Dr (new)

Dr | 134 comments I also never use tags as I know they are phony. There is so much collusion among authors and friends, I don't even want a review from someone that hasn't read my books. Yes, that happens. Play the game and it just get worse. It is like child's play, "you tag mine and I will tag yours" "You review my book and I will review yours", "You promote my book and I will promote yours". Now tell me, how does that prove anything? If you don't care what kind of book you are tagging, promoting, reviewing, etc, what happens to the quality of tags, reviews and recommendations? Some people just want to sell books regardless of the content, educational value, enjoyment, and read worthiness. Tis a shame.
Dr Robert E McGinnis an innocent bystander.
PS If you enjoy the shenanigans of politics, you will love tagging. Oh, one of the best, limit your genre down to the infinite and guess, what, all alone sitting there, you happen to be best seller because no one is in contention. Now I ask you, what ever happened to integrety?

message 2100: by Christina (new)

Christina Garner | 25 comments I have come to agree with you, Dr.
Last week I had requested tags, but later removed the post b/c my book is not going to live or die on others who haven't read it--it's going to succeed if people read it and like/connect with it enough to tell others about it.
I think it's great that everyone on the forum was willing to help each other, but for me, I think I'm going to stick with promotion that gets my book in the hands of the readers I'm looking to target. (In my case, YA readers)
