Suzanne (suzannevreese) | 10 comments Hey David,
That's good to know. Unless I'm looking at it wrong, I don't see my book there (Where Hearts Prosper). (Since you asked.)

Hello, David,

Cool link. Did you tag my books? Rowena Cherry Forced Mate as futuristic romance, futuristic Insufficient Mating Material futuristic, futuristic romance, fantasy and Knight's Fork futuristic romance, futuristic, romance

message 103: by Gina (new)

Gina (grcollia) I see only six books tagged... that can't be right can it?

message 104: by David (last edited Dec 04, 2008 09:34PM) (new)

David Korinetz | 77 comments That is six just for the mystery tag. It displays the books for the selected tag. Click on the other tags in the list. I believe I have tagged over forty books.

I will check the books mentioned. :)

David,
This is scary! I was able to find out every tag you've used (and you don't appear to have used "futuristic romance"). What curious and eclectic readers we all must appear to be!!!!
Someone listed one of my books as "Knight's Frok" (frock?!!!) LOL.
Best wishes,
Rowena Cherry
Forced Mate Insufficient Mating Material Knight's Fork

message 106: by David (new)

David Korinetz | 77 comments Yea, I know. It looks like I read every genre in existence. :)

I tagged Knight's Fork & Hearts Prosper, by the way.

message 107: by Gina (new)

Gina (grcollia) Oh boy, I didn't even notice the categories on the left. O_0

I've been getting some really interesting book suggestions at Amazon since I started tagging... books I'd never have come across. Tagging isn't just beneficial for the book that gets tagged, it opens up a whole world of reading possibilities for the person who does the tagging. :o)

message 108: by Stuart (new)

Stuart (mccallum) | 241 comments Oops's I have just dropped into the conversation, and I feel the same, I have tagged some genre's that I didn't know existed!

I feel like a dinosaur, however, I am looking forward to learning - terrific stuff.

I just joined and I've submitted my book for tagging, and I've already tagged some books. This is a great idea!

Stuart (mccallum) | 241 comments Hi, fellow authors,

My little book titled: Beyond my Control is still awaiting moderation. I have tagged all the books, however, I haven't advanced to the, 'To be tagged group' does anybody know how long it usually takes?

Happy writing and success to all, Stuart

Carole (casutton) | 223 comments Gina, Suzanne, Rowena and Todd,
Thank you all for the wealth of information you are sending out here. I'm hoarding it all and hope by the time I can make use of it, I shall know what to do! Hopefully, it won't take too long to learn the art of tagging.

Does anyone know how long after a book has been launched does it take to show up on Amazon, B&N, Waterstones and WH Smith? Ferryman should be readly to go by the end of this week.
Carole

message 114: by Rowena (new)

Rowena (rowenacherry) | 334 comments Mod
Carole,

My only experience is with New York publisher Dorchester (the Leisure and LoveSpell imprints) for my racy, futuristic Romances Forced Mate, Insufficient Mating Material and Knight's Fork.

They showed up on Amazon about four months before their release dates for preorder. They were released for sale as soon as Amazon got the shipment ... which was before I got my author copies!!!!

Perhaps your publisher has as much clout as J K Rowling and is able to keep your book off the shelves until your launch date? On the other hand, maybe you could call a bookstore, pretending to be a customer.

Good luck with the launch of Ferryman.

Todd Fonseca | 489 comments Stuart and Leslie,
Welcome! It usually takes me a couple of days to update the website with new posts. I spent a few hours on Saturday but didn't get to everyone just yet (sorry!). Should only be a couple of more days.

I'll send you a confirmation email when your post is up. Thanks!

message 118: by David (new)

David Korinetz | 77 comments If anyone would like to see all the books they have tagged on Amazon, just use Google and enter your name, in quotes, with a plus sign (+) and the word 'tags'. The link should show up in the first few pages.

example: 'david korinetz' + tags

message 119: by Todd Fonseca (new)

Todd Fonseca | 489 comments Stuart and Leslie,
You are both up on the site now and tagged!

Good luck!

We all know how hard it is to be recognized in such a competitive marketplace, I sincerely believe we all offer something exciting, new and different for our readers.

I wish you all great success in 2009, Stuart (Australia)

Todd Fonseca | 489 comments All,
Wow lots of new posts again to the blog - I'll try to catch up this weekend.
Thanks to those who have included a link from your blog or website - looks like it's starting to go viral!
I'll be finishing Debra Purdy Kong's book "Fatal Encryption" and will post a review on the site and will include in the next newsletter.
Thanks all!

Gina (grcollia) All these trips to Amazon are somehow translating into a deflated bank balance... I'm like a kiddie in a sweet shop there.

message 128: by Dee (new)

Dee Marie (dee_marie) | 460 comments Hey Todd,

Thanks so much for the recent email, with the links to all the tags. I had no idea that Amazon "kept public tabs" on everything that its members do on their site. Which is both rather cool and at the same time rather creepy.

I fully understand the time involved in keeping up with all the postings, and your efforts are greatly appreciated. Thank you for being so thoughtful in your promotion of new authors.

Wishing you a most wonderful holiday season,
Dee Marie

message 129: by Stuart (new)

Stuart (mccallum) | 241 comments Hi Todd,

I agree with everything that Dee has just said, you do put a tremendous amount of time and effort for the benefit of us all!

I wish you and everyone on this site, a wonderful Xmas and a sensational 2009!

Stuart (Australia)

message 130: by Todd Fonseca (new)

Todd Fonseca | 489 comments Dee and Stuart,
It's my pleasure. Having read a number of lesser known authors, it is clear that they produce extremely high quality work that needs visibility to more people. If tagging helps to that end and more people read these books, then I consider it a success.
Thanks to all for the support and happy holidays!
Todd

Todd Fonseca | 489 comments All,
By the way, I finished reading Debra Purdy Kong's "Fatal Encryption" and I have posted reviews here, on Amazon and the blog for those interested in a satisfying murder mystery!
Todd

message 132: by Dee (new)

Dee Marie (dee_marie) | 460 comments Thanks for letting us know about your current review Todd. I do love a good murder mystery! I will be sure to check it out.

Looking at Todd with puppy-dog eyes ... wondering...do you like tales of Arthurian Legends???

message 133: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 3 comments Hi all. I just found this thread and think tagging is a such a neat idea. I'm going to add my books as soon as I have a spare minute and then go tag crazy here in a little while on Amazon. I've always used the tags, but I didn't realize it was so important to have a lot of people tag the same thing. Great idea. :)

Amanda

Dee Marie (dee_marie) | 460 comments Hey Todd,

It would be an honor to send you a copy of Sons of Avalon: Merlin's Prophecy, for a future review. Thank you for the consideration of adding it on your "to-read" list.

I have read all of your Amazon.com reviews, and they are very well written and thought provoking.

message 139: by Ginnetta (last edited Dec 19, 2008 01:19PM) (new)

Ginnetta I started to doubt the human race for the the 11th time today.

Just now, I noticed some of you kind people have tagged the Lost Episodes of Beatie Scareli on Amazon. I wish I could know who you are. Please understand, I thank you and will continue to tag more books on Amazon.

Today is now a wonderful day.

message 145: by Todd Fonseca (new)

Todd Fonseca | 489 comments You are all the nicest folks! Thanks so much for the continued support on the blog. I hope you are all getting good visibility for your work from all the tagging - it is well deserved. Thanks for promoting the site as well - lot's of new books to add (sorry, I'm behind again!).

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

message 146: by Gina (new)

Gina (grcollia) Just back from France and up to date with my tagging :o)

I've also submitted my latest book, The Wonderful Demise of Benjamin Arnold Guppy to the list.

message 147: by Todd Fonseca (new)

Todd Fonseca | 489 comments Gina,
I hope your trip went well! I added all the outstanding submissions to the blog today (except the one you just submitted Gina - I'll try to get to it tomorrow!)
By the way, I went to your website and read the genesis behind your new book - great story!
Todd

message 148: by Gina (new)

Gina (grcollia) We had a great time Todd... it went too quickly though. The new book's a bit of a departure from the last one (now there's an understatement)... I'm looking forward to exploring the differences between promoting a fiction book as opposed to a fact one.

message 149: by Dee (new)

Dee Marie (dee_marie) | 460 comments Hey Gina,

I was so excited to see your new book on Amazon.com. It has been tagged, and soon to be bagged (I put it on my "next to purchase" list).

message 150: by Gina (new)

Gina (grcollia) Thanks Dee :o)

I was stunned to see it on Amazon so soon... I was told it wouldn't be there until the New Year. Santa must have read my letter and rushed it through.
