Anticlimactic ending

Anybody else read it yet? I felt it wasn't as good as the previous books in the series. I really liked the first three, then that waned a little. Any thoughts...

I sometimes get the feeling that Stirling is struggling to bring the series to a conclusion. Things feel a little disjointed and poorly thought through in the latest books. That's disappointing.

I think the first book was by far the best. I couldn't finish Tears because it seemed to be so much reminding me of the world and the characters that the story couldn't get started.

I agree with Bruce, it feel as though Stirling hasn't figured out the ending and is taking us along on a journey to find it. Too bad, it had so much promise.
