I never found it at our library its always checked out and im already on book 5 is it worth going back to read it?

I've just started reading the books(currently on book 3). I didn't think Harry Potter would be my thing but im hooked. I personally didn't find the first 2 books too immature but that could be just me! The only downside to reading the books now is trying to avoid any information on the books (or films) so that you dont end up finding out what happens before reading them.

Yes it is. I read book 6 before book 5 so going back is not bad. It was awful not really knowing where Luna had come from or what the DA was and why, but reading book 5 enlightened me.

Since book 2, is where we first come across the diary then I think it should be reason enough, and it should be fast since its really short compared to book 5.

Yes. I actually read Deathly Hallows first (after I had seen the first six films), and then went back to read the others. It's definitely worth it, they're all brilliant.

Yes. Although i can't remember any specific reasons to read it, i think it might be best. (Have you watched the movie? if you have than i don't think there is any particular reason why you should go back to read it, but if you liked the rest of the series that much; yes, yes it is worth reading it.

Yes Go back. You have to read them all!!

YES! It is amazing!!!

I think its a pretty important book, so I recommend you to read it :)

Yes, it is a must read. As everyone else has already said, it provides CRUCIAL information that is wonderfully explained in later books. (The way she ties everything up is so amazing.) There is also a lot of great humor in it, you just have to be paying attention enough to really see it. In fact, I almost enjoy J.K.'s humor more so in the earlier books, because its just so...I don't know. Witty. When I go back and read the earlier books I always find myself chuckling at something new. Especially in the Chamber of Secrets. So yes, read it. It may not be the best one in the series, but it is still a masterpiece.

Of course it is. It's a must read, and I personally will think it will get you hooked on the book.

Definitely not the best of the series but if you're a real fan (like most of us I believe) then it is still worth reading :) HP and The Chamber of Secrets is more aimed at its original audience (children) than the books that followed.

of course is it worth reading

It's one with plenty of humour :) It may not be as good as Half-Blood Prince or Deathly Hallows but it is good on its own merit :) You discover lots of crucial information about Voldemort (my favourite part is when you discover how he got his name). It's another brilliant book by JKR

This is my least favorite of the series, but it's just as important to the series as any of the others books, especially when you get into horcruxes. Read it once, get the information, then spend more time rereading all the others.

If I were you, I would definetely go back and read it. You've probably figured out a lot of what has happened, but there's still parts that you most likely haven't. The books are so amazing, it's definetely worth it! :P
The library I go to has an option that if you can't find a book there, you can request it and if enough people want it, they'll do everything they can to get a copy. I'm not sure if the library near you would have this option but it's worth a try? Or ask around and see if any of your friends have it and will let you borrow it.

Very good. Someone probably 'forgot' to bring it back, or they don't carry it. Check with another branch or see if you can swap on this site. good luck

It's not my favourite out of the series, but I definitely recommend going back and reading it, the later books will make more sense if you've read the earlier ones
