you mean 'Kite Runner', Ai? have not read it but it's on the very top of my reading list now :)
I love how Khaled Hosseini's writing is unbiased, not siding to any beliefs. He just tells it like it is, kind of like reporter style. An example from the novel would be, when the Taliban introduces the new country rules and says that women are not allowed to go outside, one of the leading female character in the story exclaimed “do they expect half the population to stay at home?”. and the husband reply how it might be unthinkable to modern/city people but the practice has been done for ages in Afghanistan so what the Taliban introduced was nothing new and alarming. Another scene is when the modern lady character felt awkward wearing burqa for the first time. But then finds comfort that the burqa shields her from the judging eyes of society, how she can remain anonymous while walking among crowds.
I love the way he writes so much that from now on whenever I write my motto would be “Tell it like Khaled Hosseini” :p
