Most of what I read has some kind of paranormal element in it. Vampires, zombies, shifters, gods/goddesses, etc. I think I'm probably most excited to read something with some type of mythology in it. I'm a Greek/Roman myth junkie. I do read some contemporary stuff occasionally.
I've dabbled in some challenges. I've been playing Bookshelf Bingo over in SOS since Round 2. Just this year, I got into the Scavenger Hunt over in The Lost Challenges. I played last round, Round 2, and am now currently playing in Round 3.
I kind of stalked Paris to get here. Lol. We were over at TLC in the The Scavenger Hunt thread talking about SOS Bingo starting, and she mentioned that she was also playing Words with Friends over here. (She's going to be in 3 team challenges at once! That's pretty awesome. I don't know if I could do it.)
So, I stalked my way here and first thing checked out Words with Friends. Pretty brilliant. Sounds like a ton of fun. I'm crossing my fingers for a round 2 of it, cuz I'm in.
I do the occasional year-long challenge. I haven't really had the time to do any monthly challenges. (I have before though.) I find it hard for me to keep up with the monthly challenge while I'm playing a team challenge. (And those have been one right after the next lately. Yay!) I like to focus on my team and what I need to get done for them.
Well... that was A LOT about me.... Hehe. I think it's time for me to do some lurking around the group.... *cough* I mean exploring... :-D

PS: Totally didn't know you were a Greek/Roman myth junkie too! I wish there were more books that incorporated that (well good ones anyway, I've seen some real crap out there). We'll have to compare and discuss sometime.
Welcome, Alyssa! :) I'm fairly sure if Words with Friends continues to go as well as it started, there'll be a second round. (Though it's Jenne's thing, so I can't make any promises. ;))
If you want to try a monthly challenge despite having little time, we usually have a few that require only 1-3 books to be read. And of course there's a bunch of year-long challenges you're welcome to join in! Hope you'll have fun here. :)

Alyssa, glad you followed Paris over here! (we love Paris, she def. knows how to juggle her challenges! lol) Hope that you enjoy our challenges here!

I like YA, Paranormal Romance, Mystery involving a serial killer and I'm kind of on a Horror kick.
I like reading challenges, but I really haven't done too many, so I'm not a newbie or experienced...how about a beginner.
Love GoodReads!

♥Where are you from? Newcastle, England. Home of the geordies.
♥Your favorite Genre? I'll read anything. Right now, I'm big on classics, mainly romantic ones. But sometimes it's sci fi, sometimes fantasy, other times something else. I just read a lot.
♥Are you a pro at challenges or a newcomer? I've done writing challenges before but never reading challenges. I'm pretty excited. xD
♥Any thing else you would like to share! I'm nearly 18, I'm studying English lit, lang and maths at sixth form and I want to be a primary school teacher.

I'm Barb, living in south-central Pennsylvania, where I work part-time at our local public library. I'm mom to two twenty-somethings: a US Air Force 2nd LT who just got married a month ago and is preparing to leave (with his wife, thank goodness!) for a 3-year stint in Okinawa, and a recent college grad who has come back home while she figures out what she wants to do with her life.
I'll read almost anything -- no bodice-rippers or horror for me, thank you! -- but my favorite genres are mystery/thriller/suspense and historical fiction. When I'm not reading, I like to scrapbook, cook/bake and sing with a local community chorus.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone here :)

Hi my name is Gen. I am from a small town in Michigan approx 30 miles north of our state capitol. I live with my husband of 27yrs and we have 3 adult children and 3 doggie children :). "Gone with the Wind" is my fav book of all time. Now, however, I am into paranormal mysteries, historical mysteries or I guess I should just say mysteries in general LOL! I hope to be an active member as soon as I figure my way around! nice to meet all of you:0)

That's the attitude! It's a new year and a fresh start. Welcome back.

Since I started writing, I noticed my book reading habits have declined, and I'm trying to set aside time to read more, as well as read a larger variety of genres and styles.
Hello everyone!
My name is Karen. I'm from Kolkata , India .
I just finished my graduation this year and am currently doing a course on finance (C.A.) And Corporate law (C.S.)
I have pretty much been an avid bookreader my entire life (It kinda runs in the entire family :D)
I initially read mainly mystery /crime/ sci -fi and a chance encounter with mills and boons blaze when I was 12( I still think that was way too early) started me off on romance.Over the past 2 years I have been solely obsesses with Historical Romance and a little bit of contemporary thrown in.
Goodreads is like my second home, I love all the amazing people I have met here, the great books I have discovered here and of course the wonderful challenges.
I love The Challenge Factory because while earlier all the other groups I joined had mainly romance challenges, this one gives me an opportunity to read other genres again ,like in the 100 book genre or crime in You have the Right to remain Silent. Also love the idea of series challenges. And since I'm a challenge addict that will def give me the way to revisit my old favorites :D
And that's a lot about myself !
Hope to interact and make lots of new friends here,
Cheers and happy reading everyone :D
