I don't really have a favorite genre. I like a little bit of everything. I went to school for English Literature so I've read a ton of classics. Nowadays I really prefer to read just for fun and to escape my kids so most of what I read is fun fiction. I love fantasy, dystopia, YA, thrillers and just about anything else. I don't really care for romance (I find it's usually very formulaic) all that much or for "hard" sci-fi (too technical) but I'm willing to read anything if someone I know recommends it.
I've become quite addicted to challenges over the last 4 months or so and have about 50 going right now - that's not including any I join here in TCF. :) I actually have so many going in so many different groups that I created my own group just to keep track of them all. You can check it out here if anyone is interested.
I also have a Nook so please feel free to add me! cherie.searles@gmail.com
I look forward to reading with you all! :)

I have been a member of Goodreads for less than a year and I have joined many challenges.
I review every book I read on my blog and on this site.
I also review books for an online and print magazine, netgalley and personal requests. I have also been asked to apply for a job as a book reviewer on two other sites one will be paid.
I read almost any genre but my favourites are YA, fantasy, crime/mystery and supernatural.

♥Your name? (what you would like to be called): Allison if I'm the only Allison here, otherwise I answer to Al
♥Where are you from?: The middle of nowhere, Northwestern Ontario, Canada aka the most beautiful place on earth
♥Your favorite Genre?: Mystery, fantasy, biographies, historical fiction, etc, etc. I read pretty much everything with horror falling at the bottom.
♥Are you a pro at challenges or a newcomer?: I'm pretty new at them but I am already seriously addicted. I hope there's no 12 step program.
♥Any thing else you would like to share!: I'm allergic to almost everything on earth, including my own hair, but I'm not allergic to poison ivy; I love old trucks, music, the outdoors, animals and people who know how to take a joke; I dislike canned spinach, air conditioning and really high pitched voices; I'm practicing for my future of being a crazy cat/dog lady who sits in a rocking chair on her porch with a rifle over her knees yelling at kids to Get Off The Lawn! I can't wait.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone here.
Welcome Allison! And I agree with Pat, your "Anything else you would like to share" blurb had me cracking up!

My name is Zuzana. I'm from the Czech Republic and my favourite genre is sci-fi, dystopia and 19th century and early 20th century classics. I've been a member of Goodreads for about a year but when it comes to challenges I'm fairly a newcomer. I have a demanding job and not enough free time so I don't get to read as much as I would like, but I try to sneak a book in my schedule every chance I get.
I checked out your yearly challenges and found a couple I liked. So I'm pretty excited to get started.

My name is Jennifer and I'm from Italy! I live in Tuscany, in a small town called Pisa :)!
I love reading different kinds of books: first of all I love crime fiction, noirs, thrillers and science fiction but I also adore historical novels, a little bit of fantasy and some essays :D!
I love "reading challenges" - especially those played in a team :D - but I'm new to your group :), so I hope to be welcomed here =)!

I hope you'll like the challenges here. There's plenty of them.
PS Pisa is a really beautiful town, I really liked it when I was there ;)

Allison!!! OMG! Welcome! I love you already! My girl Nanna and I are the resident crazy cat ladies! ( I actually think most of us are(!?))
You sound completely mad, you are going to fit in so well!!
welcome to all of you!! We really are becoming the league of nations!

^_^ I'm glad to hear that you liked it :)! It's a small ancient town, but I think it's fascinating :)!
Thanks for the greeting ^_^!

I live just outside of Memphis.
My all-time favorite genre is romance - both contemporary and historical, but I also love historical fiction and mystery. Mystery is my latest discovery.
I'm not a pro at reading challenges. I frequently find myself wrestling with deadlines, as I've signed up for more than I can possibly finish on time. However, I am OCD about finishing them, so I just keep going well after the deadline has come and gone, just so that I can finish a challenge. I became addicted to reading challenges when I joined the RRRC group in 2009.
I see many familiar faces here in this group, and am happy to be a part of it.

Hi everyone. I'm Chaitra. I have to thank Bree who I followed over here. :) I live in Connecticut and pretty much do nothing but read all day long. I will read anything, but I prefer to avoid chick lit and romance as I generally find the ladies in them annoying.
I'm fairly new at challenges, but Southpaw and her group Crazy Challenge Connection has me addicted. So now I stalk various profiles and join every challenge group there is, lol. I'm looking forward to participating in the challenge factory challenges!
