Hi peeps. Richard's the name, reading's the game. 42, from Australia.I mainly like to read non-fiction, across a lot of subjects. I just have a passion for learning things & becoming a better person than who I was in the past.
Welcome Lady Dazy! So glad you found us. Lots of fun challenges waiting for you here... Just ask if you need any direction. The other mods and I are happy to help.
Hello! I am David Abeling-Judge, living in North Carolina. I'm a big fan of mystery, some history, and funny/abstract novels.
I am definitely a newcomer to this environment, having just self-published my first work.
I am a teacher, dad joke crafter, and girl dad (seriously, they have me wrapped around their little fingers).
Welcome to the group David! This is a fun group with plenty of challenges to choose from. Just ask if you have any questions - one of us mods can help out.

Pre-Covid, I was a pro at team challenges. I was part of multiple groups and multiple challenges and was Empress of finding a single book to work for almost every challenge I was participating in. Despite my preferred genres, I'll read almost anything if it's needed for a task.
During and Post Covid, (although not because of Covid), reading and challenges lost all their sparkle and I've struggled to get back into reading.
This year, I set a goal that I would at least read all 12 books that my long time bookclub chooses. (Books are merely our excuse to get together once a month, talk about the book for 4 mintues and then eat cheese and tell goofy stories about our children or pets for 2 hours), I'm working ahead of the bookclub goal and want to dip my feet into some light/low stakes challenges to help keep me motivated and see how many more books I'll get through before the end of the year.
I've been a lurker here since one of my goodreads friends invited me to join about a year ago, I'm generally reading the newsletter and looking at the challenge explanations. I like the wide variety and easy going nature so i thought I'd better post an intro.
Thanks to the mods for all their work and creativity with the challenges and thanks to anyone who's made it this far; I'm looking forward to finally participating.
So glad to have you with us Mollie! You are right - this is an easy-going group with plenty of challenges to choose from. I enjoy many of the books you have listed. I reread the entire Little House series a couple of years ago, and really liked tracking Laura and Almanzo's travels on the map. Amazing they ever found each other!
Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. We are here to help!

Hi! I am Anshika from India, a student and fiction lover. I read books when I get tired of my boring academic life. I am a bit busy person, so i am not a super-fast reader, just 30-40 pages per day. My favourite genres are sci-fi, fantasy, horror and thriller. I have a little bit of experience in challenges, and I love to take part in them. I see them as a medium to help me tackle my TBR, interaction with other challengers and maybe, meet new books. So glad to come here :)
Hi I'm Denise in California, I found this group looking for challenges. I will probably start being active when the 2025 challenges are posted. I will read most anything but oddly my least fave genres are the otherwise popular sci-fi/fantasy. i will mostly be looking to do longer 6 month + challenges.
Welcome Denise! I think you'll find plenty here to meet your challenge needs. Some ongoing longer challenges you could do now include Genre Pyramid Roulette and the ever popular TCF Marathon Challenge. Whenever you want to jump in is fine though. Happy reading!
♥Your name? (what you would like to be called)Hi my name is Masoodah, but you can call me Mash.

Hi Everybody! My name is Rachel and I am from Wake Forest, NC. I want to meet other book lovers as well as find a way to tackle the large stack of unread books that seem to appear all throughout the house (must be gnomes that bring them in ;) ). I'll read almost anything, but right now I seem to be on a Classic Lit kick. Looking forward to participating in some of the challenges here!
Welcome Rachel! I think you'll find plenty of challenges here to help you work through your backlog. :-) I love classics too. Hoping to tackle Middlemarch this year!
Erica wrote: "Welcome Rachel! I think you'll find plenty of challenges here to help you work through your backlog. :-) I love classics too. Hoping to tackle Middlemarch this year!"Middlemarch is on my list to tackle one day as well. I started it as a teenager, but for some reason never finished it.

Just let me know when you want to start. I'm not a super fast reader, so this one is likely to take me a few months. Maybe April-May-ish?

Welcome Reoh and David!
Reoh - I was IN Missouri visiting grandkids when you first posted! What part do you live in? I was born in St. Louis and that's where my son and his family are now. They had more snow than we do when I was there - so bizarre.
Glad to have you both here at The Challenge Factory. Looking forward to seeing you in challenges!

Hi. I'm Ashley. From VA, but transplanted to AL for school and stayed. I love reading all types of books, but my current deep dive is into romance. I am a complete newbie when it comes to challenges and goodreads in general, so really excited to be a part of this community.
Welcome to The Challenge Factory, Ashley! I hope you find a challenge or two that you will enjoy. Be sure to ask a moderator if you have any questions.
Hi! I'm Charlotte. I'm from Canada and I love reading! I love romantasy and just fantasy in general, but I'll read any good book. I love challenges, but I'm new to goodreads, so I would say that I'm a newbie at them. I'm super glad I found this group!
Welcome Charlotte! We're so glad you found us. Be sure to ask if you have any questions at all. We are here to help. Looking forward to seeing you in challenges!!
When the very first star caught your eye, did you feel it tugging at something hidden beneath your ribs?I’m Andrew J. Green, by daylight a builder of software, by moonlight a spinner of heart-stopping romances. From my cozy corner in Winston, Oregon, I invite you into worlds where stolen glances carry more weight than swords, where whispered promises echo across alien skies.
Imagine silk gowns brushing marble floors as two rebels share a breath so electric it could shatter kingdoms. Picture lovers tracing constellations on trembling fingertips, each spark of touch unlocking secrets older than time itself. That’s the pulse of my S.I.N. Code Trilogy—and of the metaphysical journeys you’ll find in my nonfiction guides to the multiverse.
One reader messaged me at 2 AM, her voice trembling over the phone: “I laughed, I wept, and I refused to sleep until I knew what happened next.” Now, for you—my fellow members of [Your Goodreads Group Name]—I’ve tucked away a free sneak-peek excerpt.
Take my hand, click “Join,” and settle into our secret salon of dreamers. Whether you’ve conquered dozens of reading challenges or this is your first leap into romantasy, here you’ll find kindred spirits, whispered confidences, and the next story that won’t let you go.
Welcome to The Challenge Factory Andrew! Your author aspirations and book announcements can be posted on this thread: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
But please also join us for the many reading challenges we have. Moderators are around if you have any questions.

Hi everyone! I'm Katrina and I identify as neither an early bird or night owl. I am a sleep deprived pigeon. There aren't enough hours in the day to get all my work done and also get some fun reading in, so my sleep schedule is the thing I have decided to sacrifice lol.I really love to read romantasy, horror, and YA books. The challenges in this group look really fun and I can't wait to start participating in some!
Welcome to The Challenge Factory Katrina! I had to laugh out loud at your description of yourself as a sleep deprived pigeon. I'm more of the early bird sort myself. We have lots of fun challenges here and look forward to having you join us!
Hello, I’m Katherine and this looks like a fun and active group! I absolutely love reading and don’t remember a time when I didn’t read. It’s always been a huge part of my life. My favourite genres are thriller, horror and historical fiction, but I try and read across all different types. I’m a fairly recent convert to Audiobooks. I live in the UK.
Welcome to The Challenge Factory Katherine! I love audiobooks too. I still read physical books but use audiobooks when I'm cleaning the house. We look forward to seeing you around in challenges!
Hello there. I’m Gigi—a proud Minneapolitan navigating urban life with an architect (who designs buildings) and a rescue dog (who designs blanket forts).Dyslexic but determined, I’ve loved stories since I first learned to wrestle words into submission. These days, you’ll find me:
• Debating romance tropes (I claim to hate them all, yet somehow keep falling for miscommunication 😍)
• Losing sleep over literary thrillers (the darker and more psychologically complex, the better)
• Dog-earing history books
• Collecting translated works like souvenirs (every language holds magic)
I’m new to challenges but not to strong opinions—let’s discuss books, Midwestern winters, or why every novel needs at least one good dog. 🐕 ❄️ 📖
