♥Where are you from? Belgium
♥Your favorite Genre? Fantasy, Mystery, Thriller, Horror, Non fic, basically anything despite romance ;)
♥Are you a pro at challenges or a newcomer? Well, I have been doing dome challenges for quite some years now, but I am not fully committed as I love to mood read, if that's a thing ;)
♥Any thing else you would like to share! Thank you Donna for the invite! I admit that the number of challenges here is a bit overwhelming right now, but I'll have some time to look around and see what I can do.

Ariane, welcome to The Challenge Factory. I am a mood reader, too. We'll have to come up with some kind of reading challenge made just for us mood readers :)

Jessica (vividomestic) ♥You name? Jessica
♥Where are you from? Long Island, NY
♥Your favorite Genre? Contemporary Romance, Cozy Mystery, Realistic Fantasy, Women's Fiction, Suspense...also, I don't know if this counts as a Genre, but I love to get into a good series!
♥Are you a pro at challenges or a newcomer? A few years back, I was in the Seasonal Reading Challenge group, but I started spending all my time just looking for the books to fit the challenges and didn't get around to reading them! I like that this group has challenges with different time frames and different themes. They look so fun!
♥Any thing else you would like to share! I just finished serving as president of the PTA at my daughter's school (don't recommend, by the way) so I am excited to have some more time to myself and get reading more!

Welcome to The Challenge Factory Jessica! I think you will enjoy this group. I hear you on digging for books to meet requirements... You may really enjoy Ezi's Dusty Bookshelf and Finish What You Started challenges. They really help you focus on reading what's already on your list!

message 1911: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (vividomestic) Thank you Erica! I just checked out the Finish What You Started challenge and YES!! I am in!

message 1912: by Erica, Quality Control Supervisor (new)

Awesome! Ezi sends a broadcast announcing those two each month so you definitely won't miss out. I've been doing the Dusty Bookshelf for some time now, although I just got into FWYS this year.

message 1913: by Robin (new)

Robin (anelusivedreamer) | 5 comments Hi all! I'm Robin from southern California. I don't think I've introduced myself here before. I'm a newbie to challenges, but I would like to read more. My favorite genres are fantasy/sci-fi, but I also enjoy literary fiction, historical, and anything considered classic.

message 1916: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 185 comments Hello all,

♥You name? (what you would like to be called)
Sharon

♥Where are you from?
Currently, I'm living in Tampa Bay area of Florida, USA

♥Your favorite Genre?
I read almost everything but I'm drawn to mysteries and all its sub-genres with a generous dose of romances thrown in for a change.

♥Are you a pro at challenges or a newcomer?

I can't classify myself as a newcomer, but I'm not a pro. I participated in several challenges last year. It was a lot of fun. I heard about this group from a member in another reading group and decided to check it out. It is a little late in the year, so I'm not sure how successful I will be but I will try.

♥Any thing else you would like to share

I I am a grandmother. My summers are spent reading with my grandkids. They all have summer reading challenges for school, so we have our family reading club reading and discussing the books selected. I look forward to this every year.

Welcome to The Challenge Factory, Sharon.

I love the idea of a family reading club. I wonder if I could get my grandkids to do that with me. Hmmm.

It helps that it is a school "recommendation." We have a good time.

Welcome Sharon! No worries about joining in midyear. The Backyard Birding Challenge just started at the beginning of this month and we also have plenty of monthly challenges. I'm sure you'll find a few to try. This is a very friendly group!

Welcome Kathleen! You will love this group. In particular, you should enjoy Ezi's FWYS (Finish What You Started) thread. You won't be able to join the fun until the August one is set up but you can plan which six series you want to list to be chosen from. Ezi sends a broadcast every month when she's ready for sign ups. Here is a link to the July thread so you can see how it works: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Hi Kathleen. I'm glad you found The Challenge Factory. Hopefully one (or two or three :) of our challenges will help you figure out which new sub-genres you like.

Ask question if you need to. We're a friendly bunch!

message 1925: by Erin L (new)

Erin L (wellreadmoose) | 272 comments ♥You name? (what you would like to be called)
Erin

♥Where are you from?
Southern Alberta, Canada

♥Your favorite Genre?
Mystery/thriller (all the cozies and police procedurals, really)

♥Are you a pro at challenges or a newcomer?
was a pro. Severly out of practice.

♥Any thing else you would like to share!

This is a bit of a reintroduction. I was an active member through 2016 and early 2017 (as near as I can tell doing a quick search). And I participated in a number of challenges and then I fell off the planet. I changed jobs and now work from home leaving me without the long commute I used to fill with books and goodreads participation.

I'm back. I need some reading motivation and I remember enjoying so many challenges here. I'm looking forward to taking part again.

Welcome back Erin!! So glad to have you rejoin us! Just thinking... you could set up some "commute time" reading before and/or after work. But your chair will be more comfortable and you might be in your slippers, lol.

I recently set up "Virtual Commute" in Teams for work so it tells me to shut it down for the day. It's perfect for giving me about an hour before anyone else walks in the door!

message 1928: by Alicja (new)

Alicja (140177766-alicja) | 81 comments ♥You name? (what you would like to be called)
Alice (it's what I go by usually as my name isn't English and people often get it wrong)

♥Where are you from?

I'm from Leicestershire in the UK

♥Your favorite Genre?

I don't really have a favourite genre, although I find that I like to break things up for myself, for example if I read to many thriller books then I will switch to another genre like historical fiction or biographies.

♥Are you a pro at challenges or a newcomer?

I have previously mainly participated in yearly challenges and have not typically been a apart of a group like this, but it sounds like fun.

♥Any thing else you would like to share!

I do work Monday to Friday, but if I sign up to a challenge I do my best to finish the task if it's just myself and will definitely complete it so I don't let my team work. I also found that on here it is much easier to me when people reach out to me on message because when I reply to people in thread on my phone it doesn't pop up as a reply, but I do answer comments at least once a week.

Taylor (whimsytay) Your name?
I'm Taylor, nice to meet everyone!

Where are you from?
Ohio.

Your favorite Genre?
Fiction. I'd try reading pretty much anything- my favorite reads tend to be heartwarming or campy horror stories like Fear Street (I've been collecting the original prints the past 2 years).

Are you a pro at challenges or a newcomer?
Newcomer. I've done a few here and there back in the early 2000s. It's been a long while so it will take me a minute to re-figure everything out.
