Welcome back, Barb! Can I ask about your avatar picture? It seems familiar.

Thanks, Lanelle! My avatar is the logo for the Penn State Nittany Lions, my alma mater. Hubby and Daughter are also PSU grads, so blue & white runs deep in this house :)

Ah! That's where I've seen. I recently watched a football game where the Lions played. Thanks for letting me know.

Hi I'm Traci (scraptraci) from a suburb of Chicago, IL.
My favorite go to genre is cozy mysteries but I do also enjoy Historical Fiction.
As for challenges I have been steadily doing more since starting in 2020 with Popsugar. I have been expanding my lists but I think I need to pare back some so I actually participate in the social aspect and updating of the challenges more than I did in 2021
Besides reading I like to play golf and tennis as well as scrapbook
I'm planning to start out with the Main Character spell it out challenge.

Welcome to The Challenge Factory, Christene. I'm so glad to see that you've jumped right into the challenges.

My new year's resolution was to read more books and I'm officially addicted. I'm new to Goodreads and reading challenges, can't wait to jump in!

I enjoy reading romance, but my all-time favourite genre has to be fantasy. I highly enjoy doing reading challenges, I've been doing the same ones for years in another group and am now trying to expand out. I always like to get recommendations on new authors/series to try.
Welcome to The Challenge Factory, Martha. I'm glad you decided to try us and some of our challenges. Let us know if you have any questions.

Where am I from from or where do I live now? I always think of myself as from Sechelt (there's only one) because I was born on that coastal area and spent most of my growing up years there minus some "sabbaticals" my dad took, but I am now a dual citizen and live in New England. Even though I've been here for nearly 3 decades I never think of myself as from the States and still spell Canadian.
Lastly, I am not one to have a favourite anything, so am loathe to answer questions like that. I'm an eclectic reader, and it's easier to list genres I refuse to read than all of the ones I like, or even the ones I like more than most. This is especially true now that there are so many crossover books or mixed genres.
I have three 20-something kids who all live at home, more or less. The eldest is a true Aspie (I was originally told to ignore this spectrum stuff that has now been made official, so I do) and unable to support herself due to a PDD emotionally. My middle one is working but doesn't make enough or have enough of a credit score so soon after college to get an apartment. My youngest is in grad school so rents an apartment in Pittburgh but this is still his main home (no grad housing at CMU).
I also have the same husband who is why I ended up in the States (there was no way he wanted to move to Canada so far from his mother, although she more than 4 hours from here by car, so not next door since she had her kids older than most women of her generation. None of our other relatives live nearby--his in other states, mine are all back north of the 49th parallel although two of them have lived in the states for periods of time during my marriage--but not near us.
Welcome Karin! Looking forward to seeing you in challenges. This is a fun group - I think you'll enjoy it here.
Hey, Karin. I'm glad you decided to join our group. Let us know if you have any questions or ideas. We can always use suggestions from pros (or close to pro :).

Pro at playing doesn't necessarily mean pro at making them up! However, if I get any ideas, I'll let you know.

Participating in challenges is going to help me pick up books I would not have immediately chosen, and that's my goal for this year!
So happy to be part of this group and to meet you all! :)
Hey, Enora! Welcome to The Challenge Factory!
"Participating in challenges is going to help me pick up books I would not have immediately chosen, and that's my goal for this year!"
That is exactly why I love reading challenges. I have found so many awesome books that I would never have read without having been prompted by a challenge task.
But most of all, have fun!

Welcome to The Challenge Factory, Vicky. I don't think we have any challenges focused on YA Fantasy, but that's something that maybe we should consider!
