Welcome, Diane! I tend to read mostly romance myself, so most of my challenges are written with that in mind! I highly recommend that you check out the "A Year of Romance" challenge in our Yearly Challenges folder, that one is such fun! "TCF's Themes, Settings and Plots!" is the follow up to that as well. I hope you find some great challenges here!
Hi!
I'm Minerva, but I've gone by Minnie ever since before I could speak. I am from Seattle, Washington born and raised (all 15 years). I tend to gravitate towards chick-lit, romance, and YA. I do prefer reading about happier stuff, but I am open to most everything because variety is good.
I am pretty new to all these challenges.
I actually just found all of these challenges after joining so many clubs for the new year and am signed up for about a million (just an exaggeration, I know. It's really just around 20.) that I can barely keep track of. They all seem fun and these challenges will be a great incentive for me to read more this year.

Hey, Minnie. Welcome to The Challenge factory. I prefer reading happier books, too. I avoid books that might make me cry. They affect me too much!

Hi, Becca. I'm so glad you found The Challenge factory. Be sure to ask if you have any questions about our challenges.

but I also generally read anything else that appeals to me in general - if its a pretty book cover 9/10 it will end up bought by me aha! I like buying books cheap and second hand - if I can raise money for charity by buying out of the shop I would prefer to do so as its a bit of me.
In regards to book challenges this year its mainly try and get as much reading incorporated into my life as possible as last year I couldn't as much which annoyed me. One way I have done this is with the group Drop Everything And Read - which has incorporated everyone in the group between them to read a million pages and this has given me a extra boost to read and enjoy a book more.

I'm Melissa and I live in Italy :) My fav genres are dystopia, fantasy and historical fiction! I don't really like poetry or non-fiction but there are exceptions. I love challenges, but I'm not very good at completing them XD But I have so much fun doing them!

My Name is Lara, I love reading but don't have any favorites, i'll read anything if it catches my eye. As for challenges i'm a new comer, but definitely looking forward to it

Welcome, Lara! There's many different tiers of challenges here, so just jump in anywhere. We're glad you joined us!

I'm Leslie. I live in Maryland with my husband. We have seven children from 36-16. Three still at home.
I'll read just about anything as long as I'm enjoying it.
Just started my first challenge.

Welcome, Ash!

I guess I'm the youngest here since according to the comments you're way older than I am. So my name is Meliha and I'm coming from Center of France. I have no idea how I ended up here (I'm not entirely new, but it's a huge job for me to log in and join the challenges) but I decided to present myself. I just turned 16, though I love reading and having views about the books I read. I would like to join the challenges as much as I can but the school, lessons, and other activities won't let me do so. I love many kinds of sports except the savage ones and I also enjoy theater. I'm the screenwriter and cameraman at school, we do many social activities like that here. And I've finished writing my first book a few months ago. I have several readers online and many outside where I send them a copy of my book as pdf version.
I hope you enjoy my ghostly presence.
Meliha.
Welcome to The Challenge Factory, Meliha. We have a few challenges that only require a little bit of participation. It sounds like you are quite involved at school, and that's good. Congratulations on writing a book. That's a wonderful accomplishment!

My name is Jeanne (pronounced like Jeannie with the light brown hair). I am married to a wonderful guy (he'd have to be for me to stay married to him for 53 years) and have two children, and three grandchildren. As they all live some distance away (9 1/2 to 12 hours) I don't get to see them as much as I would like. We live in Northern Michigan with long snowy winters and wonderfully cool summers. As my husband has cancer, we spend a lot of time in doctors' offices for him as well as for me. It's basically where I get to read.
I read many different genres, but I spend most of my reading time on cozy mysteries and historical fiction, which I just love. I have been a member of a cozy mystery group or two for a couple of years and have tried a couple mini-challenges (one or two months) and enjoyed the challenge. It also helps me to choose a variety of books and authors.
I am dipping my toe into the Reporter Challenge (which I ran into quite by accident) and am excited to get started.
*waves* Hi, Jeanne. I'm so glad you found our group.
53 years! I think you both must be wonderful to have stayed married for that many years. My husband and I have been married for 35 years, so we're working up to wonderful ourselves.

Thanks for the welcome, Lanelle. The 53 years have been both fun and rewarding. Good luck to you on your next 35 years of marriage.
Hi to all the newcomers! I usually stop by more often to welcome people but have been CRAZY busy for the past few months. You will enjoy this group immensely - it is full of fun, wonderful people who are always willing to help with whatever question you may have. Your reading will likely go WAY up too, as mine did...

Sruthi, scroll all the way down to the Monthly Challenges folder. April's challenges are there.

No problem.
No problem.

My name is Nicole and a fan of challenges! Stumbled across this group and love trying out new challenges. I basically only read romances, with historical being my least favorite and contemporary my absolute favorite. Looking forward to tackling these challenges!

Welcome, Nicole! I too am a Romance junkie, and my tastes follow yours exactly! Many of my challenges are written with that in mind, so be sure to check them out! We're so glad you stumbled onto us!

My name is Angela and I currently live in the Sacramento valley, in northern California. I don't know if I'd consider myself a pro at challenges, but I certainly have an addition to them - I've discovered so many amazing authors and fun sub-genres while searching for the right book! I love classics and women's fiction, but Latin American authors hold a special place in my heart too, as well as Daniel Silva's espionage novels, sci-fi and non-fi (is that a thing???), LGBT romance, Italian mystery series...so it's hard to say that I have a favorite genre. If someone had the guts to follow an idea for 100+ pages over many months and put it on paper, I'll give it a try. :)
Looking forward to getting to know you guys!
Hi Angela, and welcome to The Challenge Factory!! You will truly enjoyed this group. Everyone is friendly and helpful, and there are tons of challenges to choose from. I do the Dusty Bookshelf every month - you post up to ten books on your TBR list, and then another person picks two of them and also recommends one or more books in a genre you like. You try to read at least one of the books chosen for you and sometimes get to them all. It's fun! Sign ups for that challenge start mid-month, with book selections made in the last week of the month. Hope to see you there!

Kiki here, in steamy DFW
I've done some year-long reading challenges and really love them to keep me motivated and help me select my next read without assigning anything. :P
Super excited to get started on some new/different challenges!
Been trying to read more non-fiction this year (personal goal), as well as trim down my TBR list. I do a lot of mysteries and suspense, but every now and then need some mental cotton candy on the weekends to decompress.
Thanks for having me!

Welcome, Caroline! We have lots of different timed challenges, so I am sure you'll find something you can fit into your school schedule!
I'm so glad you found The Challenge Factory and our scavenger hunts, Gabi. They're a lot of fun, aren't they? We're a friendly group, so don't be afraid to ask any questions.

Location: London, Ohio (when my brain isn't in the Bunker or a '67 Chevy Impala)
Genre: Horror, and for a guilty pleasure, romance
Challenge rating: rusty pro, because way back forever ago (a little over a year and a half), I used to belong to this group, but was lured away from books by the siren song of Destiel fanfiction, though now I return
Other junk: For those that haven't already figured it out, I'm huge into the TV show Supernatural, and especially one of the main actors, Misha Collins. I'm also in love with the show Lucifer, but those are pretty much the only shows I care much about at the moment. I read a lot of completely random stuff, including anything from the non-fiction section that sounds interesting at the time. I always love finding new things to read, but my attention span varies from reading a 300 page book in one sitting to not even being able to pay attention to a Facebook post for more than a few seconds. I never know where I'll be at any given moment, attention-wise, so I might finish fifteen books one month, and two the next, so I'm going to try and limit my challenges. I can get stressed if I feel too overwhelmed, even when it's unimportant stuff, so hopefully I can pull that off properly. Oh, and I talk waaaaaaaaay too much. ^_^
VampAmber it's good to see you again. I did your Dewey Decimal System challenge and it was way cool.

VampAmber, I'm so glad you're back. We missed you!
Jamie, you've found the right group if you're reading challenge obsessed. And there's no bad habit when it comes to reading ;) Welcome to the Factory!

Hey!! Welcome back!

Welcome, Loriidae! I used to read fantasy when I was younger as well, though not as much now. I do still squeak in the occasional World of Warcraft book from time to time though! We're glad you came to join us here!

I am a challenge newcomer, recently bitten by the cozy mystery bug. I discovered the wonderful world of reading challenges through a few of the cozy groups and now, like Jamie above, I have become quickly obsessed! I was in a long-time reading slump and a new job with a longer commute got me back to audiobooks. And now I have at least one audiobook, a couple of Kindle books, a Scrib'd book and a couple "real live" books going at the same time, so the challenges help me pick my next TBR! Excited to be a part of this group!
