Thanks for the nice welcome, Erica, Denise, and Leslie! I have tried the Hangman already and guessed the answer twice so far, and I'm joining the Dusty Bookshelf challenge in November. I certainly try to have fun, Leslie.
You're very good at Hangman, Connie! I solved one puzzle, but more often fail to guess a letter in time - and when I check in the puzzle has been solved and my finished book doesn't count for the new puzzle!
Yeah, Hangman is tricky that way, Erica. They end so quickly sometimes. When I started, all of them had been solved by the time I turned around and checked! I had the same problem with my new finished book not counting too. I decided to keep a tab open to the game on my computer so I can keep checking on it. :-)
Good Morning! My name is Caly and I live in Knoxville TN. I found this group because somebody mentioned it over at NBRC which is a another group that I love and I am looking for a place to join more team challenges. (Just finished WOBBLE over at NBRC).
So I am not a new comer to challenges but I prefer team challenges to keep me motivated.
I generally prefer Historical Fiction, Fantasy or Literary Fiction when it comes to genres, though I have found myself drawn to suspense a lot recently. YA book are fine too especially dystopian novels. The one genre I will not read is Romance and I shy away from Westerns.
A little more about me.. I work full time for Whole Foods Market and I am married to my soulmate Kirche. We have been together 12 years and were finally able to marry in 2013 when it became legal. We have 2 dachshunds which we adore and we love to travel. I generally read about a book a week, 2 if they are short or I am trying to push for a challenge.
Look forward to being part of this group! Happy Reading all!
Welcome Caly! And congratulations on your marriage - so wonderful to hear you have been able to realize this dream.
I read Lily and the Octopus this summer and just loved it. You might too, as Lily is a dachshund. A very sweet story!

Thanks Erica! I most definitely have Lily and the Octopus on my to-read list. 8-)
Hello, Caly. I'm so glad you found The Challenge Factory. I hope you find a challenge or two that interests you.
My family has had four dachshunds over the years. They are so much fun!

Thanks for the welcome Lanelle!
Here are my "babies" though only Annie (the red one) is really a baby at 5months, Pippin (the dapple) is 9 but we have had him since he was 7 weeks old so he will always be a baby to me, *grin
Adorable pups, Caly! I have a (small) Welsh corgi, and her favorite unknown dogs are dachshunds. I'm sure she appreciates not been looked down upon and maybe she recognizes the similar streamlined body.

They are so smart!

Welcome Gabriela! You might like YA, as they tend to read pretty fast. I'm just now finishing up the Little House on the Prairie series in a buddy read. Such good books, and the stories really move along!

Hi, Tanima, and welcome to The Challenge Factory! We're glad you found us!
If you like Fantasy, have you checked out Sarah J. Maas' Throne of Glass series? It's YA fantasy, but very well written!
If you like to discuss books, the best we offer is our Buddy Reads challenges. Basically, you'll post a list (in the Buddy Reads Discussion thread) of what you're looking to read in, let's say December for this example, and everyone will look and see if it is something they will want to read too. If so, they will reply to you and you'll request that a private thread get set up for you (this is in the Buddy Reads Sign Ups thread). Nearer to the beginning of December, one of the Mods will create the thread for you, and off you and your partner/group will go! Unfortunately, we don't do a group buddy read, so there's not much opportunity for discussing a book outside of the Buddy Reads.
Feel free to take a look around and check out some of our challenges! If you find one that strikes your fancy, you never know what you might find someone else reading in the challenge and you could always try to start up a discussion by private message!
*waves* Welcome to The Challenge Factory, Tamina. I had to smile at your introduction. I don't think I could pick a favorite genre either :) I hope you find a challenge or two that you think is interesting.
Welcome to The Challenge Factory, Tamina! I joined this summer, and have enjoyed it immensely. Lots of friendly, helpful people here - so don't be afraid to ask a question if you need help. My reading has gone up dramatically since I joined. A good thing!
Hallo Gabby! Someday I want to visit London. I want to see all the places in my historical romance novels :) Thank you for choosing that profession and for the sacrifices you make to help others.
Hi! My name is Alkmini and I am from Greece :)I have two favorite genres: Historical fiction and crime-thriller!
I love challenges! It helps me read books I wouldn't read on my own, and also makes me read more and more

Welcome, Alkmini! We've got lots of challenges here, so I'm sure you'll find something to enjoy!
I'm Cindy from SoCal. I don't have a favorite genre but I can only say I'm a literary lightweight-- not a big fan of dense, complicated or extremely detailed, descriptive writing. I haven't got enough attention span, I guess. I haven't participated in any reading challenges since 5th grade (when my teacher used to give out candy bars for every 10 book reports!) I'm hoping to find one or two that are a good fit for me.
Right now I'm reading The Complete Stories of Truman Capote, and next book on my list is Grapes of Wrath. And just maybe I can squeeze one more in before the end of the year. We'll see.

Welcome Cindy! I wouldn't call you a literary lightweight at all. You're reading some very interesting things! One thing I love about this group is that you get to see what others are reading and it gives you ideas of what you might like.
Welcome to The Challenge Factory, Cindy. I'm glad you found us. Have you seen any challenges that look interesting to you?
Thanks for the welcome. I've checked out December challenges. I also like being able to see what others are reading. I'm pretty new to Goodreads and so just getting familiar with the ins and outs here.
My name is Chelsea. I am 17 years old and I have a book fetish ( if that is a thing?). I live in Gardendale Alabama. I have a identical twin sister who is currently expecting her first child in February. I try to finish one book a week if not more. I am so addicted to the Mara Dyer series and Nichola Yoons book called Everything Everything. I have soon to be 3 nephews and one dog. I usually read Young Adult or Sci-Fi. Right now I am reading Lord of the Flies which I've heard is a really gruesome book. I am adopted from Arkansas. I have a stepmom from the Philippines. She has one child by my adoptive dad. Thanks!

Welcome Callie! You will LOVE this group - a perfect fit for all book addicts. There are many, many challenges to choose from and the best part is that there is no pressure. You can read exactly what you want when you want. But I did notice my reading level going up quite a bit when I joined. Have fun!

Hello all! My name is Laurel, I'm from Winnipeg, Mainotoba, Canada. My genres range from Fantasy, Sci Fi, Historical Fiction, Mysteries to YA/Children's Lit (I have a busy classroom library and am always hand recommending books to my students). I cannot wait for the new year to roll around to start many of the amazing looking challenges
Welcome Laurel! So glad you found us. This is a fantastic group. Friendly people, lots of interesting challenges to participate in. Enjoy!
