Kelly Fowler | 1 comments Hi. My name is Kelly. I'm a mother of a very sassy 6 year old. I work as a pharmacy technician. I'm from South Carolina, and I'm not much of a traveler and I guess thats one reason I like to read, so I can travel thru the stories. I like all kinds of books. Currently working thru Janet Evanovich books. I'm new to this site and groups.

⚜️XAR the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) Welcome Chantal and Kelly! We're glad you found us here! We've got challenges of all shapes and sizes so I'm sure you'll find something you enjoy!

message 1460: by Brandon (new)

Brandon Hi there. I'm Brandon and I like to be called Brandon. I am from Ohio, and I really don't have a favorite genre as I like to read about anything outside of romantic novels. I never really challenge myself to do anything as I like to read at a leisurely pace with no pressure to fill a deadline.

Welcome to the group, Brandon! I'm not sure we'll be a good fit for you, we're pretty challenge heavy in this group, and your introduction seems to say that you're not looking for timed challenges. I can recommend the "Give Me 5" thread as a good place for you to check out, as that's not really a timed challenge, more of a "Pick my next book for me" type of thing. I hope you find something to participate in!

message 1462: by Brandon (new)

Brandon Oh OK. I was looking for an active group where people would talk about books and stuff.

Our buddy reads might be up your alley then! You pick a book, ask for a partner, and if you get one, you and the partner discuss the book. Might want to check out the Buddy Reads Discussion Thread, see if anything strikes your fancy!

Iris (irislovesreading) Hi, I don't believe that I have introduced myself. My name is Iris I'm from the Netherlands and I love to read.

My favorite genre would be YA, Fantasy and Thrillers. It's a pretty weird combination but I just like a lot of books haha.
I'm currently participating in the Super Series challenge (Team 13) but this is my first challenge. I really like it, but I notice that I'm kind of late with my reviews (they're always on time though).

I think I will be participating in the Dusty Bookshelf challenge of September.

One last thing about me, I love love love love the Mortal Instrument series and I really want to buy the hard copies to start my bookshelf.

Welcome to The Challenge Factory, Haley. It sounds like you're perfect for our group! Have you had a chance to look at some of our challenges? Which ones do you like?

I play multiple instruments as well. My first instrument was the clarinet and then I learned how to play the saxophone, piano and organ. Oh, and I can play middle C, D, E, F, and G on the trumpet :)

Hi Haley, and welcome! I love to play piano but I don't dance. You sound very talented. I'm sure you will enjoy this group. Check out the "It's called WHAT?" challenge in the Yearly Challenges (not the 2016 Yearly Challenges because it's an older one...). I just found that a few weeks ago and am working on it. Fun!!

Natalie Shipman Hello,
my name is Natalie from New York and I enjoy challenges because I love to read all different genres! I know 3/4 of the year has gone by but I will do what I can to engage in this wonderful group.
Looking forward to 2017!

message 1475: by Motazz (new)

Motazz Soliman | 1 comments Bonjour, mes amis! My name is Motazz. Though I've been blessed to live and study in different places (including stints abroad), I am currently based in North Carolina, U.S.A. I have a diversified interest in books, but I tend to find myself also pulled towards ethnic or geographic-specific fiction (such as African and Arabic novels), non-fiction history and travel, and novels of exploration and/or reflection. Newcomer at challenges. Love to bake cheesecakes; love to listen to art, literature, and history discussions (and yet I hold B.A's in political science and international studies--so I like to follow these topics too). Looking forward to further engaging with this group! :)

ooooo Australia! I like romance novels too. One challenge at a time. I like the ones with no page limit to completing the challenge, and the First Impressions one halfway through the month.

Eunice | 636 comments Hi, the name's Eunice. I read almost anything as long as it sounds interesting to me, but I usually read thriller, mystery, fantasy, sci-fi, and some YA. I love books with head-turning plot twists that stresses me out and makes me rethink the things I've just read. XD

I'm a newcomer to reading challenges. I haven't started on anything yet, but planning to join some for this month. Kind of excited, but I don't know how I'll do in them.

*waves* Hi, Eunice. I think it's great that you read so many different genres. That means you have a better chance of finding those head-turning plot twists you like so much.

Trea is right; challenges are for fun and to maybe stretch your reading a bit. Feel free to ask questions, especially the moderator of that challenge.

Leslie | 757 comments Hello Eunice! Always good to get new folks in the challenges. I like to use them as a direction on what in the world to read next.

message 1485: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (melissarujeko) | 18 comments I am Melissa. I live in Windsor, England with my family, but I am currently at University in my first year studying Spanish and Italian. I'm a newcomer to challenges and I am up to read most things as long as it has good reviews. :)

message 1486: by Rita (new)

Rita Flaherty Good afternoon. My name is Rita and I live in Pennsylvania.

Favorite genre- sarcastic tongue in cheek fantasy? Wow- that's narrow? I do stretch out to read romance, thrillers, and a bunch of kid lit.

I've never joined a book group or participated in a challenge before. I did join the goodreads 2016 challenge and seem to be on pace to meet my goal for that.

I've never considered myself a bibliophile, but after moving and packing up some four bookcases of completed books to donate to charity... I have acknowledged that I may be in denial. :)

message 1487: by ⚜️XAR (new)

⚜️XAR the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) Welcome, Melissa and Rita! We're glad you found your way to us here at The Challenge Factory!

Rita, I hope you've embraced your bibliophile status...we bibliophiles are a great bunch to be around, and you're in very good company!

Melissa, good luck with your studies! I've always struggled with languages, so I admire those that can speak other languages well!

If you ladies have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Hi Rita! Ciao Melissa! I'm also trying to learn Italian, but for me it's a self-study thing using DuoLingo mostly... You will both enjoy this group immensely. It is perfect for busy people who want to participate in a book club on their own terms - when you have time you can join in. You may also find yourselves looking at others' book selections and adding to your own list of "to be read" (I know I do!).

message 1489: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 757 comments I love that there are readers the world over. Hopefully we'll see you both around. I am definitely a romance novel person, but the challenges work for everyone.
