Erica wrote: "How do buddy reads work? Can more than two people participate?"Yes, they can! Buddy reads are just a way for people to discuss the book in a thread at a decided upon time.
Were you wanting to join Cindy and I?

Hi! I'm Erin. I'm originally from NJ, but moved to central FL two years ago. I'm currently doing the stay-at-home mom thing, spending my days with my 8 mo. old son. My favorite genres are science fiction/thrillers. Michael Crichton is my absolute favorite author, though I do love Harry Potter and Little House on the Prairie too.
I'm a newcomer to challenges. Our library has a summer reading program for adults that I've already completed so I decided to look for something else and here I am!

Welcome, Erin! My library is also doing a Summer Reading Program, but after we get 15 books read, anything additional gets us extra chances for the grand prize, a Kindle Fire! I'm about to turn in my 11th sheet tomorrow, and each sheet holds spaces for 5 books! Two of those were finished this morning, but still 53 books for June is nothing to sneeze at!
hey! So I am Twarit, currently a student of business economics and I'm relatively new to the book challenge world. Just here to discover new reads and meet people with similar interests. I am not so picky when it comes to genres and stuff. Though, I do enjoy good mysteries and contemporary books.
I am very lazy so a challenge is what might help me finish those books lying around waiting to surprise me. ha!
Hi everybody! My name is Paola, Im from Venezuela, my favorite genres are Romance and Historical fiction, but from time to time I read fantasy or mystery books. I'm looking forward to join your challenges ;)
Hi Paola and Twarit -
I'm very new here too. You will love the people in this group. Very helpful and friendly. And yes, having challenges really does get you reading a lot more!!

Hello, Twarit. I'm glad you found The Challenge Factory. The nice thing about our challenges is that they can be as challenging as you want them to be. If you like mysteries, you might enjoy The Reporter's Challenge.
Erica wrote: "Oops sorry Pao... my dumb phone changed your name."It's ok, Paola is my name, but most people call me Pao ;)
Welcome to The Challenge Factory, Paolo. I see you've already found the Give Me 5 challenge. Way to jump right in. There are quite a few monthly challenges that are just starting. Maybe one of those will interest you, too.

Hello! My name is Sil and I live in Argentina. I’ve been an avid reader since I was a kid. I like a variety of books but I prefer reading fiction and lately I have been reading mostly Young adult and Mystery novels.I’m new at taking part in challenge (I still have to decide which one) but I think it will be a good motivation to get through my huge, ever growing, to be read list :)
Hi I'm Jamie. I'm from Kansas, USA. I'm 23 years old. I live with my fiance Wy in a small town of Harper. I love almost all types of books. I wouldn't say I'm a pro at challenges but I do love participating in them.
Welcome Sil and Jamie! Challenges are indeed a great motivator to read a bit more and you'll soon end up a pro with all the challenges we come up with in this group! If you have any questions, feel free to PM any of the mods by Shellbelle and Jenne. We're glad to have you here!
hi! i'm brittany. i live in florida, my fav genres are sci-fi and fantasy, and i've just started getting into challenges. i have tons of free time this summer, but i'm starting grad school in sept and that will severely limit my reading time... so i'm trying to squeeze in as much as possible before then :)
Hey, Brittany, welcome to The Challenge Factory. If you're into sci-fi and fantasy, maybe you'll like the Science Fiction and Fantasy Challenge that one of our members created. It's pretty cool.
Hi! I'm Anna. I live in Ontario. My favorite genres are fantasy, historical fiction, and mystery. I'm not very experienced at challenges but I love doing them. They might help me get through my giant tbr pile.
Hi I'm Kyria I live in Southern California
I like Sci-Fi, fantasy, mysteries, and non-fiction. I also on some occasions enjoy young adult and humors chick lit.
I have zero experience with reading challenges. My goal is to keep myself accountable with my reading goal. The first half of the year I missed my goal so I'm here to make that change.
I also want to share the reading experience. I find that I'm taking less trips to the book store these days and that is impacting my reading list. I look forward to seeing what others are reading. I see I have a lot of exploring here to pick a challenge or 2....
Welcome Anna and Kyria! We have a variety of challenges here in a range of durations that should help you get comfortable with challenges in no time! Please PM any of the mods but Shellbelle and Jenne if you have questions!
Hello, I'm Diane and I'm from Washington (the state).Genres: Mystery, Thriller, Suspense, Horror, some YA, some historical, non-fiction, paranormal (ghost/haunting - no vampires), some contemporary, some literary. I like a little of everything except romance and erotic.
I'm new to challenges (on Goodreads anyway) I began the 2016 Reading Challenge and am 26 books in but those didn't transfer when I signed up for the challenge, so if anyone knows how to transfer those, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll just have to knuckle down :)

Welcome, Diane! Are you referring to the Group Reading Challenge? They never automatically transfer your previous reading in, so you have to sign up for it. Just set the same goal as you did for the Main Goodreads one and designate a shelf for them to use. I always use Challenges 201X personally, where X is the last digit of the current year. Then all you have to do is tag those 26 books with that shelf as well and the group challenge will pick it up!
We're glad you joined us! Feel free to PM me or any of the other mods but Shellbelle or Jenne if you need further help!
Hey, Diane. I'm so glad you found The Challenge Factory. Washington is a beautiful state! Since I live in Arizona, it's always a treat when I go to Washington to visit family.
I hope you find a challenge or two that you think is interesting.

Have a wonderful day!
Hi. I'm Cindy from California. I'm somewhere in between newbie and pro on challenges because I don't always complete challenges. My favorite genre are middle grade, comics, action-adventure, fantasy books. Looking forward to doing some challenges.

We've got a 6 month Challenge centered around Marvel's TV shows that you should check out that I think you might like.
Hi! My name is Caitlin. I am originally from Kentucky but currently reside in Ohio. I read mostly science fiction and fantasy novels, but I have the occasional mood for horror or teen slice-of-life style books. I also have a habit of reading truly terrible bodice ripper romances. I've never actually done a reading challenge before, but from everything I've seen here I'm definitely very interested. I look forward to reading with you all!

We've got a few challenges that might appeal to what you enjoy reading, especially our Walking Dead Game Challenge. I've got to say though, challenges are a great way to get through your TBR pile!
What part of Ohio are you from? I'm in the Dayton area myself.

I spotted a Star Wars challenge that I've got my eye on. It seems right up my alley. :)

We had a suggestion for that for May the 4th Be With You Day, and I had a blast creating that challenge! I've been using it to read all of the novelizations, and I've enjoyed the walk down memory lane.
Ah, up north! I don't get up there too much, I used to when I visited family in Pennsylvania, but as they've all passed on years ago, I haven't found much reason to take the trip up that way lately.

Hello, my name's Tiara, but I go by Of Skulls and Arrows on my Tumblr, which is basically by blog where I post my writings and stuff. I'm from Indonesia. I grew up in an island but later moved to the a much bigger mainland because of academic needs. My favorite genres are basically everything and anything, as long as they are interesting. But my bookshelves consist of mostly young-adult reads with romance and etc. I'm definitely a newcomer, as I usually shy away from group reads or any other challenges. But after reading some tips from the Broke and the Bookish (http://www.brokeandbookish.com/2012/0...), I decided to try something new and try to make actually some new friends who love books as much as I do. I hope joining this group would be a good place for me to start.
Oh, yeah, my blog is here http://ofskullsandarrows.tumblr.comI don't mean to initiate any promotion, but it would be nice if you all have some time to check it out and give feedbacks, as I'm still learning a lot. And if you have tumblr, we might even follow each other. :) I'll check out yours, too, if you want.
Hi Tiara, and welcome! I think you will enjoy this group - very friendly, helpful and supportive. I joined about a month ago and it has been well worth my time.
Welcome to our two newest members, Tiara and Abi! I'm so glad you found this great group. We have all kinds of challenges. I hope you find one or two that interests you.
