Raine (rainelu) Hello! I'm Lorraine and I live near Atlantic City, NJ. I love to do challenges - I've been a Shelfari member for 6 years and am now moving over to Goodreads. I am getting used to the new format and will probably try a couple challenges in March 2016. My first grandbaby (a boy) is due any day now - so excited!!

I read all kinds of books - I don't have a favorite genre. Being a member of online book clubs has made me read books that I never would have otherwise and that makes me happy!

Hi Raine. Lots of challenges here so jump in! I went to school with a guy we called "Joy-zee boy" because he was from NJ and his pronunciation cracked us up. So we called him Jersey boy but with an attempted accent

Hi Julia.
Night Road by Kristin Hannah is the first book I won on Goidreads first read giveaway and my first KH book. I feel in love right away.

Jodi picoult I had to separate because her moral dilemmas always ended in a way that didn't really feel cleanly resolved.

One of my favorite westerns are more HR: Land of Dreams by Cheryl St.John His Secondhand Wife by Cheryl St.John Prince Charming by Julie Garwood Lakota Renegade by Madeline Baker
Contemporary western romance: Against the Wall (Maverick Montana, #1) by Rebecca Zanetti Erotica romance: Master of the Mountain (Mountain Masters & Dark Haven, #1) by Cherise Sinclair
Sci-fi: Hidden Empire (The Saga of Seven Suns, #1) by Kevin J. Anderson The Host (The Host, #1) by Stephenie Meyer Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1) by Nalini Singh The Iron Duke (Iron Seas, #1) by Meljean Brook

Looking forward to trying out some new challenges, discovering new books, and getting back into the swing of things. And not getting deleted. :)

John, thank you for sharing your book, but your book information should have gone in our special "Authors: Tell Us About Your Book" Thread and not in our introductions. Would you please edit your post, remove your book information and tell us a bit more about yourself as you'd like to be known to us as a member of the group? Heya, Emerson! Glad to have you in the group!

March's Newsletter will be out in the next few days and that will give you a pretty good direction on where to start. I recommend looking at some of our longer challenges while you wait for March to start. You can always start the yearly ones now and add in books you've already read this year previously, or start them for March and have them go until February of next year. There's some 6 months challenges too that might be up your alley. Let us know if you need any help and welcome to the group!

Tania | 188 comments Hi, my name is Tania. I'm married, work full time, and love to travel. In between everything else, I read. It's hard to pick a favorite genre, but I do love historical fiction, YA fiction, fantasy, and biographies. I've been rereading a lot of the books on my bookshelves, and I always have a new stack of books waiting to be read as well.

A challenge from the group came across one of my newsfeeds and I was intrigued. I love challenges, and reading, and I really like how this group is laid out. I'm looking forward to participating in some challenges and getting to know everyone.

Hi
I don't remember if I introduced me so I'm doing it maybe again, lol
I'm Gaelle. I love reading more than anything. Urban Fantasy, romance, paranormal romance, fantasy, manga, I love it!! I love a good challenge and I love buddy reading and share my feelings.

message 1344: by artenica (new)

artenica | 6 comments Hi! My name is Catherina (or any other variation of the name, I'm happy with any spelling). I'm from St. Petersburg, the one in Russia. I'm 23 and studying journalism at the University. Also I have corgi and three cats. And lots of books. :3

I think my favorite genre is classic but it's too wide so let's say I fond on classic of 20th century (all those magic realism, post war and postmodern stories) and never say no to the good old fantasy (urban/high) and a bit of sci-fi is good too. But the less romance the better. I love books where charachters have strong inner conflict.

I only started reading books on english last year but it opened the whole new world to me (I can be a slower reader though).

The Challenge Factory looks like there's lot of fun, I hope to participate.

Hello, Gaelle and Catherina. Welcome to The Challenge Factory!

Danielle (Danniegurl) (danniesreads) Hey I'm Danielle (Dannie too) I've been in TCF and participated a few times. I just log in usually on my ipad and navigating multiple groups is difficult. I am hoping to get into a challenge in May, because I'm in a weird mood with the books I've been reading lol. I'm huge into UF, PNR and that section though I don't mind contemp romance and NA they aren't my primary go tos. I do need more what I call "Paranormal Detectives" (I only have like 77 on in my paranormal detective shelf) basically if they need to investigate I put it in that category. I love that sort of thing, but what's super funny is I CANT do "normal" "real life" murder mysteries and such. They bore me to tears lol. I've been pushed to read the In Death series I got through book 1 I'll try book 2 eventually.

I'm also a severe book pusher as many of you who know me can attest to. ;)

message 1347: by [deleted user] (new)

hiyas ^_^ I'm Crysanthos. I'm from Ohio, USA and my favorite genre is usually fantasy (both high and low), science fiction, mystery, and romance (almost always of the paranormal variety). it just depends on my mood. I've never officially done any challenges but my friend (her username is vampamber or something like that I believe) showed me your current hangman and I think I solved it in 5 minutes. (if you could direct me there so I could make a guess that would be great) Anyway, what else about me? I like long walks on the beach, unicorns, and fruity drinks. The only problem is, the beach always smells like low tide (ick), unicorns won't come near me, and all of the rum is gone. Why is the rum gone?!?!?!
On a related note, I promise I'm only 95% as weird as I seem ^_^
Before I go, one last word from a Badgerlord of the great fire mountain Salamandastron, "I have always sought knowledge my entire life. But remember, cubs, knowledge in and of itself means nothing. It must be tempered with wisdom, and truth, and love. For in the twilight of my seasons, I have but one wish for you. Live, and learn, and love."
