Georgia Holder Hi I'm Georgia!
I live in Lancaster County PA where I am surrounded Amish and Mennonites.
My favorite genre's are fantasy, YA, and historical fiction although I will read anything with an interesting premise.

Tamarah Gallegos | 1 comments Hello!
My name is Tamarah. I am 26, married to a USN Aviation Mech, and we share 2 young daughters. We recently PCS'd to NAS Jacksonville in NE Florida, but we are originally from Albuquerque, NM. I only recently began reading more regularly, and with the lack of spare time I usually sacrifice sleep hours in order to read. I find that I enjoy a variety, and usually meander through the library with no direction until I find something that catches my eye. I tend to gravitate toward memoirs (fictional and non-), and also biographies, and for some reason don't like anything sci-fi related. i hope to meet some of you on Goodreads in order to gain some insight on good books, recommendations, reviews, and challenges. My goal is to read 20 books by the end of the year. (Daunting I know!) I want avoid reading books just for the sake of numbers, and would prefer the remaining 15 to be more than worthwhile.

So far I have read:

Bless, Me Ultima by Rudolfo Anaya
The Old Man's Love Story by Rudolfo Anaya
O'keefe: The Life of an American Legend by Jeffrey Hogrefe
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
And The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath

if you have read any of these books and have any similar recommendations, I am open for suggestion!

Thank you all!!!

Paula Patterson | 24 comments Hello, everyone! My name is Paula. I am married with 3 children. One on his own, one son starting college in a few weeks and an eighth grade daughter. Alas, I am the lone reader in my home. Not quite sure how that happened. No one to share my book thoughts with...well, I do force them to listen every so often. ;)

I have been reading for as long as I remember. Grew up in a house full of avid readers.

Love all genres except spy, espionage books. I read a wide variety of books depending on my mood.

Love challenges. Love to set my goals and strive to reach them. Can hardly wait to get involved in the group.

Thanks for having me!! Happy reading!!

Kelli J Hello there I'm Kelli from the good ole state of Virginia! I'm a 25 year old biologist commuting in the D.C. area (yay audiobooks!) but all I really want to do is go fishing or hiking and have bonfires every night.
My favorite genres of the moment are Mystery, Fantasy and (I hate the term, but) Chick-lit. I particularly have a penchant for smart and sassy gal protagonists.
I am pretty new to the idea of challenges but I love them! I came across different ones on book blogs and I hadn't been reading too much lately but these challenges really motivate me and get me excited to read again! Now I'm carrying a book with me wherever I go and realize there are lots of opportunities throughout my day I could be reading (even just waiting in line at Starbucks!)
I am so excited to get started here and get to know people! :D

Sara Williams (sarafwilliams) My name is Sara Williams and I am an avid reader and book reviewer from Portugal. I love all sorts of books but don't tend to read much science fiction or historical romances. However, I have been really digging urban fantasy lately. Hope to make lots of new friends!:)

message 1167: by sarah (last edited Aug 01, 2015 01:05PM) (new)

sarah Hi, all. I'm Sarah. I live in NorCal (originally from SoCal). I love mystery, but I love all genres as long as the book is worth reading. I've been reading a lot of YA these past couple of days and some classics as well, but, yes, mysteries are my go to reads. I am new to both goodreads and the challenges so I'm really excited! Also, I'm a huge crafter (crochet, knit, cross stitch, sewing, etc.), so if I slip on my reading it's only because I'm crafting. Anyways, i'm looking forward to the challenges and to getting to know some of you lot :]

message 1168: by Jo-Jo (new)

Jo-Jo Hi everyone :) I am Joanne and I am 35 and from a small town about 35 miles outside of Cincinnati, Ohio. I am a mom of 2 gorgeous and intelligent little girls- Cadence Michelle will be 11 this month and Elizabeth Michaela Grace will be 10 in October. I read a bit of every type of genre but my favorites include Urban Fantasy, Young Adult, anything paranormal or supernatural, Fantasy, Historical Fiction, Historical Romance, Sci-fi, True-Crime, Horror, and I am still discovering new genres that I enjoy all the time. I also enjoy fairy tale retellings. I am somewhat new to Goodreads and am only now discovering the challenges- I can't believe I was missing out on them all this time. I am so excited to find out all of these fun and creative things involving reading exist. It is just amazing to me and I plan on becoming more involved as I go along.

I am married to same wonderful man for 33 years. So yes, I am old. I read most genres. I tend to avoid legal thrillers, spy and espionage books. My bookshelf reflects my electric taste in books. So glad to be here. Love challenges. They seem to boost my reading. So I hope to be joining in several. Thanks for having me!! Look forward to meeting other readers.

message 1173: by Emily (new)

Emily Hi all! My name is Kate - I generally go by Boston Kate here on Goodreads. I'm from (you guessed it!) the Boston, MA area. (Just outside of the city, but close enough). I read pretty much anything, except for erotica and Harlequin-style romance (just not my thing), but my favorite genres are Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Historical Fiction.

I'm in a few other Challenge groups, but mostly individual challenges. I've just started my very first Team Challenge in another group. It's a bit daunting, but I'm finding it fun.

This group seems a little intense, but I love a good Reading Challenge, so I wanted to check it out. I'll probably lurk for a bit before I join anything, but I wanted to introduce myself. :)

message 1178: by [deleted user] (new)

Hello, I'm Sara from Sweden. I'm a new Challenger, and sadly I'm afraid I won't dive right into challenges. In about two months I'm moving and then I will tackle the small (maybe not the best Word) challenge of Reading through and organizing all of my books, so until then I'm relying on my local library, which, thankfully is quite local since I work in it.

But I very much look forward to seeing what kind of fun challenges people can come up with.

I'm not a very picky reader and like to try books I don't know very much about. I can't stop Reading a book that I've started, and I'm still working on weather or not that's a good thing.

Looking forward to lots of fun Reading.

/Sara :)

My name is Linda and I live in upstate New York, near Rochester. I am married with one daughter and one grandson. Welcome, Natasha! I hope you'll have a ton of fun here at The Challenge Factory!

I have to admit, I think you've got one of the coolest jobs, as libraries are one of my favorite places and I've known a lot of great librarians!

I play video games too, though mostly on computer games like World of Warcraft or RIFT. What do you usually play?

Again, welcome to the group, and feel free to jump right in on the challenges!

Note to all the actual librarians: I am so jealous of your job! I would love to work at a library (or a book store, or anything to do with books). That must be so great. Keep up the good work, and spread that love of reading.
