Like Lanelle said, we have a very diverse group in our reading tastes. So welcome to TCF and jump in on the Buddy read thread. I will admit that my genre is Romance--whether it's HR, CR, NA/YA or M-m. I must have an HEA or something close to it.

Janet Arroyo Hi y'all, I'm Janet. I currently live in Sacramento CA. I was born and raised in east TN. I prefer to read rather than watch television. I love sci-fi, fantasy, paranormal, Christian, historical, self help and anything that catches my eye. I'm definitely new to reading challenges. Im very excited about joining this group. There seems to be something for everyone. I look forward to exploring more of what this group is all about.

Briana (brenee4) Hi everyone!

I wasn't going to originally leave anything, but this seems like a great crowd of people :).My name is Briana.I'm from MD & definitely a newbie to challenges.I joined good reads originally to keep track of the books I've read, but now my tbr has *exploded*.I love all the book recommendations! Challenges definitely help me narrow down my list though♡

Hey Janet and Briana, welcome to The Challenge Factory. You're gonna love it here.

And you're right, Janet. There are challenges for everyone. And different reading speeds as well.

Briana, I can't guarantee that your TBR list won't keep exploding, but the challenges will definitely help you read those books.

Hi Janet and Briana,
I am sorry but your TBR pile is definitely going to triple in this group. I see books all day that look interesting in various genres.

message 1066: by VampAmber (new)

VampAmber | 622 comments Hallo. My name's Amber, and I'm wishing terribly that I could read through all the introductions before me before posting my own, but 1,100+ is too intimidating of a number for me, so I guess I'll just have to meet everybody as I go along. I found out about this group through my friend Trea, and her numerous responses from here on my feed. Everything she was talking about made me curious, so I decided to join in on the fun myself. I'm from Ohio, but I'd love to get out of it some day (I would do almost anything to take a vacation to Ireland or to Wales). There's a reason so many movies/TV shows take place in Ohio: because it's so average and dull that you can place any plot into it and it fits just fine. Blarg. *checks the list from the first post* My favorite genres are horror and romance (nice and eclectic), but I'll read almost anything that sounds interesting, except true crime stories because that stuff creeps me out like crazy, with the exception of historical ones like Jack The Ripper or something along those lines. And when it comes to reading challenges, I'm about as new as they get. I used to do those Book-It things in grade school (and came in first place every time, by about thirty books or so on average), but that's about it. I was hoping that by joining this group, I'd be more inclined to read more non-graphic novels, since I've read over 70 so far since the beginning of the year. -_-; Manga, why must you be so addictive? But yeah, I'd also love to get through some of these ebooks that I obsessively hoard (I probably have almost 2,000 by now), and what better way than through a challenge or ten? Oh, and I already filled out the "I challenge myself to ..... books in 2015!" thing on the main page. I already was keeping an unofficial list of non-graphic novels that I read this year (the base GoodReads challenge lists everything I read, including manga and comic books), but now I don't have to wonder how on track I am because it tells me. Yay for being lazy! Oh wow, I sure have written a lot so far. I think I'll go wander around a bit now. ^_^

I'm glad you decided to join us, Amber. I hope you'll find some challenges that will help you read a lot of those hoarded ebooks :)

I really like to read old gothic books. And the definition of a gothic book is horror and romance combined. In fact, there might be a challenge coming soon featuring gothic novels.

The biggest reason I want to go to Wales is that I've been in love with Stonehenge for about a quarter of a century (which is quite a feat when you know that I'm only 31). There's other awesome stuff to see, of course, but that's the big draw for me. Ireland, though, I just want to live there and exist there and breathe there and listen to all the accents.

message 1073: by VNerdbooks (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5307 comments yummy, there is nothing sexier than an Iris accent!

Stonehenge is in Wiltshire in England which is over the border from Wales but not too far to dive, a few hours at most, I've never been.

message 1074: by Meagan (new)

Meagan Hello! My name is Meagan and I am from Nova Scotia, Canada. It's hard to pick a favorite genre but right now it has to be young adult contemporary and fantasy. I am a some what newcomer to challenges although I have participated in a few in some other groups and I'm super excited to participate in some more.

message 1075: by VampAmber (new)

VampAmber | 622 comments Welcome, Meagan! I'm new here too (just joined yesterday, in fact), but there's so many different challenges that I'm 109% certain you'll find a bunch that you'll love and want to start on immediately. The people seem pretty awesome so far, too. I love fantasy as well, and even at 31, I'm still obsessed with YA. ^_^

message 1076: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (literarywisdom) I'm Lauren, 20 from Scotland. My favourite genre is YA but I do try to read other genres. I would say I'm a newcomer to challenges because I have only participated in a few. Feel free to add me because I love making new friends that I can chat about books and other stuff :

I like Romance, Adult Romance and mysteries. Though I must say if someone tells me a book is good, I'll give it a try, unless it's history LOL I read Still Alice and absolutely loved the book. I also like books that have humor, sometimes you need that to get away from the stress of life.

message 1088: by Nicole (new)

Nicole I'm a busy mom (who isn't) who loves reading. I can usually get about 30 minutes in before bed each day. I'll read anything, have no qualms about not finishing a book it's crap and I still can't decide which I enjoy more, reading a great book or the search for a great book.

ClaireB Hello!
My name is Claire, even though my goodreads name is Angel. I've wanted to change it but then I entered a few team challenges and didn't want to confuse my team mates. So it has to stay like that. Either name is good for me :)
I'm super happy to have found another challenge group. I've started doing book challenges last year and I haven't been able to stop since then. It's really motivating me into reading more books. My favorite book genres are: YA, Urban fantasy, MM Romance and some fantasy now and then.
