Hello everyone! My name is Berit , I live in Southern California with my three amazing children. I love to read, exercise, eat, socialize with my friends, and most of all I love being a mom.! I enjoy most types of books, my current favorites are YA , Historical fiction, dystopian, psychological thrillers, and anything that is filled with love.I have become recently addicted to challenges and really enjoy group challenges, which I noticed you all offer. Looking forward to becoming part of this group!
Welcome, Berit. You've come to the right place if you find challenges addicting. Feel free to jump in. The water's fine.
Hey!My name is Iwtumn, I live in a small country in Central Europe (so please forgive any spelling/grammatical mistakes) and I'm new here. ;)
I don't really have a favourite genre, though most of the books that I read fit best into the crime and thriller section and occasionally I'll also grab something fantasy-y. My favourite book is Felidae by Akif Pirinçci. I am not a big fan of Chick Lit and romances (though I love the cheesiness of Meg Cabot's Princess Diaries... Take me right back to my teenage years :) ). However, since I am a poor student, I'll read them too if family or friends offer to give them up. In general I'll read pretty much anything I can get my hands on (no matter if it's good or bad... A bad book every now and then adda to my appreciation of the good ones... Or so I tell myself (The truth is that I don't like leaving things unfinished)) and if I understand it I try to read books in their original language.
Since university is taking up most of my time I don't get to read as much as I'd like to anymore (the real reason why I've only finished 5 books so far this year). I am not a challenge-newbie, but I've never done a reading challenge before (I am quite competitive by nature, so if I want to achieve something, finding somebody to race me to it is the way to go for me) and I'm hoping that this will get me back to the books.
Well, I guess that's me!
Hello everyone. I'm Amy and I live in NC. I mainly read M/M books (with the odd M/F book thrown in occasionally) and have been doing the challenges over at the M/M group for a while now. Looking forward to joining in here.

Hey Amy.
Welcome. Join me on the Buddy Read thread. We read some m-m books like we will read TY and Zane's last book...and then we will break down as its over. (I think I just shed a tear typing that)

Hi Iwtumn. Glad to have you here. I'm a romance reader but it's nice to have diversity as a lot don't read romances here. Do you like challenges? Join us.

Lately I have been into cozy mysteries, usually in a series format, I like to really get to know the characters over a period of time.
But, I do look over reviews and read anything that looks interesting on the New Releases or Best Sellers lists.
Hi Deb!
Welcome to the group. I find the best way to get to meet people is to join a challenge like Dusty Bookshelf or Finish What you started. We also have a lot of other challenges that are interactive.
We have a Buddy Read section which is fun, you should probably start there. It's a place to find a "buddy" to read the same book and you guys discuss the book as you read along.

Hi I'm Melissa (Minerva) from Northern California, Corning, a small town about 2 hours north of Sacramento. I love challenges, they help me read those books that have been lying around my shelves forever. I mostly read the MM genre. I'm an accountant but am currently off on disability and enjoying my 2 children.
I love challenges for the same reason. I'd be stuck in a rut otherwise. Hope you find a challenge that helps you find some great books. And welcome to The Challenge Factory.
Hello I'm Debbie. I live just outside Boston. My favorite genre is sci-fi/fantasy with YA as a close second. I'm a challenge addict for sure. I'm looking forward to some new challenges.
Welcome to The Challenge Factory, Debbie. Be sure to check out the Science Fiction and Fantasy challenge in the Odds and Ends folder. It's a fantastic creation from one of our members.

Hello! I'm Angie, and I'm from Maine, U.S.A. I was directed here by a friend when she found out I was looking for a challenge. I've never participated in one before, but I'm excited to give it a go!I'll read anything that has some romance in it, but I'm trying to branch out into other genres as well.
Hi Angie. You probably want to add a moniker because there are a couple of Angie's.
Welcome to TCF. Join challenges.

♥You name? (what you would like to be called)Holli
♥Where are you from?
Texas
♥Your favorite Genre?
I read all over the place in genre. I read fantasy, sci-fi, romance, thrillers, etc. Within the last year I got started on military non-fiction (memoir-type, like Lone Survivor, 13 Hours, No Easy Day, American Sniper) due to a friend who is former Navy and recommended several to me. I find them incredibly fascinating.
♥Are you a pro at challenges or a newcomer?
I'm not really sure how I'd classify myself when it comes to challenges. I just enjoy them as they make reading kind of like a scavenger hunt for me.
♥Any thing else you would like to share!
I enjoy writing and my characters spend most of their time talking to me or driving me mad. More often than not at the same time. :-) And I'm really happy to have found and joined Goodreads. It's a fun place.

Hi, I am Sally, 67 from Utah. Retired but raising 2 grandsons age 14. My favorite genre is fantasy. I read a good variety but I prefer books with happy endings, not into romances or graphic sexual details or occult.
I'm glad you decided to join us, Sally and Sandra. I think we're the best group here on Goodreads. Certainly we have the best challenges :)
Sandra wrote: "Oh, I still have get through all the threads and challenges...so hard to choose!"
I would suggest you check out the Science Fiction and Fantasy Challenge in the Odds and Ends section. One of our members created it. It's great.

♥ I'm currently undertaking a couple of challenges, including the Full Deck Challenge, the 2015 reading challenge (150 books) and the U.S. States challenge (recommendations for less common states are welcomed!!)
Hi my name is Meredith. I'm from Michigan and love reading. My favorite genre is romance. I'm 34 and have 3 kids. 2 boys 8 years and 4 years; 1 girl 6 years. I'm a stay at home mom and read in my free time. I have tried a few challenges in other groups but I haven't been very good at them.
Hey all!! I'm Danielle and I live in South Carolina, US. Romance is my favorite genre and within that genre I love PNR and UF with a romantic lean.
I'm not new to challenges but I am new to the group so I'm excited to meet new people who can help build my TBR into something that is even further unattainable as it is now haha. I know a lot of ya'll from other groups but joined this one because all the good BRs seem to be happening here!
I'm really excited to participate in challenges... they make reading more fun than it already is!
Feel free to add me as a friend :)
