Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) | 355 comments Hey all!

My name is Dawn and I am a challenge addict. I think my current Challenge is to see how many challenges I can get going at one time.

I am a stay at home mom, of a two year old boy. I know, how I actually find time to read amazes me too.

I recently moved to Denver, Colorado. I usually read PNR, but I am trying to branch out into other romance genres. I like books with humor, nothing too serious or thought provoking.

I am looking forward to all the interesting challenges you have going on here!

message 62: by Vicky (new)

Vicky (librovert) Hi All!

I'm Vicky and I live in Delaware.

I don't really have a favorite genre, I like all types of books from non-fiction to fiction and from science fiction to chick-lit.

I'm somewhere in the middle of newcomer and challenge pro. I've been participating in The Seasonal Reading Challenge on Goodreads, but with ~80 books to read in three months it gets overwhelming quickly, and I've been looking for a good group with some smaller scale challenges to participate in and it seems like I might have found one!

Truth be it, I have never been. I've been told it's too expensive for what it's worth but my dad visited and said it's really good, but I think that's because I have a 1 year old sister who probably loved it.

Where about's in Yorkshire did you visit? I've travelled around the place myself.

message 65: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (lelauren) Bonjour! Je m'appelle Lauren.

I live in sunny Florida with my darling hubby and my fur babies (cats), Neechee and Mischief.
I love reading and knitting and sometimes reading about knitting.

I will read almost anything, anytime, though I tend to pick fiction. Almost any fiction.

I am new-ish to Goodreads (and challenges) and came over as I found my blog was being overrun with book stuff instead of anything else.

message 78: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Ingley Hello. My name is Amanda. I live in a city just outside of Toronto, Ontario in Canada. My favourite genre to read is Science Fiction, especially anything written before 1980. Of course, I'll read anything though. :)

I'm a newcomer to challenges here on Goodreads, though a couple years ago I did challenge myself to read a set amount of books in a year and far surpassed it. I've been continuing the tradition ever since. This time, I thought I'd bring a bit of social interaction into it.

Thanks and good luck to everyone!

Sagal Hi my name is Sagal. I’m originally from Africa but I life in Kansas now where I go to school. I would prefer it if everyone just called me Sagal and not Steven (laugh if you get it). I try to read as much as I can in between homework and exams. I usually read just about anything, but I have a soft spot for humorous book. I’m a newcomer and if you have any questions for me let me know. :) :)

Tim (timh1952) My name is Tim. I live in Gloucester,UK, but am originally from London. I read from a wide variety of genres with a leaning towards historical. Dislike vampire novels intensely and all paranormal romance type stuff - sorry, it's just weird. (Read my profile for my verdict on the Twilight Saga)

Definite newbie at book challenges.

Can't say I or any of my friends say that but I have heard to once or twice.

When I moved up North I became quite confused with some of the things they say. Bonny for example, I had no idea what they were on about. Turns out it means pretty - oh and bane means baby. Don't know if you've heard of them?

The people ae friendlier though which is nice. Where are you living now then??

True! I was taken aback at how nice and helpful people were, definitely not the last time I've been there.

Only stayed there for a month (part of my education). I'm back in Denmark now.

message 93: by Jerry (new)

Jerry (jersysman) Okay, I've been a member of the group for about a month, but just now getting around to writing this intro. I do a lot of traveling and sometimes go to places that don't have a good internet connection. That is why I love my eReader.

I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Jerry, but I'll answer to just about anything (hey you, him, whatshisname are just a few!). I was born and raised in Philadelphia and have moved back to the area after staying away for many a year. My favorite genre changes with my mood. For the most part it's Paranormal, Erotica, Mysteries, or Historical Fiction. I know that covers a lot, but I'm very eclectic. I am relatively a newcomer when it comes to challenges, but a quick learner.

I spent 24 years in the Air Force and I still have the Air Force in my blood. I love what I do now (systems analyst) and read every chance I get when I am not on the computer. I have just bought a new Sony T1 reader, so now I have to fill that up!

Glad to meet you all!!

message 97: by [deleted user] (new)

Helo, my name is Karoline and I am curently living in Norway (born here), with big plans of moving to The Netherlands in near future.

I do love paranormal romances (even more when they take place in early 1800 or before), old gothic stories and mysteries. But I also enjoy many other types, and any fiction in oldtime England, Ireland and Scotland will be adored.
So far, the only book genre I've comed to dislike is crime. Though, not all crime, just these humourless, depressing, gray stories and the modern type. Would maybe be better to say that I enjoy crime only when it is mixed with some sort of humour.

I can easy call myself a newcomer when it comes to challenges, as I've never taken one. But that won't stop me for going full in on the more difficult ones (if there is such a thing?). I like to challenge myself, but I will need to take my wallet and my boyfriend into consideration, when going into a challenge.

I guess it isen't hard to see, but I adore anything taking place before 1900, both books, movies and styles and so on. I'm a sucker for the old times.

message 98: by Katy (new)

Katy (katybean27) My name is Katy. You can call me Katy. I'm brand new to challenges, so bare with me! I am currently challenging myself to read more, as I'm a new reader. I mean, I've been ABLE to read for more than 30 years, but the interest is fairly new. I am from Fort Worth, Texas. Love it here. My favorite genres are true crime, fiction crime, celebrity memoirs, and the kind of books they make into cheesy lifetime movies. Some of my favorite authors are Jodi Picoult, John Grisham (although, I've only read one of his), and ... well, my mind is blank right now, but you probably understand where I'm going. Anyway, can't wait to participate in a challenge here. Sounds like fun!

Lindy-Lane (moonbacklit) Ciao! My reader name is Lindy-Lane. I currently live in Ohio but hope to move back to Williamsburg, Virginia ASAP. My favorite reading genres are mystery, romance, and historical fiction. I'm not a pro to reading challenges; however, I am certainly addicted to them! I like the thrill of matching a read to the challenge requirement and snuggling in to read the books! I work in a library, home educate my teenage son, and adore my baby girl pug named Miss Lucy.
