My biggest dream is to be able to have a huge library in my home, big enough to let me properly divide my books into genres in different shelves, rather than mixing everything on the small amount of shelves I currently have - and not be forced to keep many of my books in boxes.
I'm completely new to the whole challenge thing, but since I haven't read as much lately as I wanted to, I thought challenges might be a way for me to start reading more actively again and maybe discover new genres and authors.

I'm a civil code enforcer for the state of Louisiana and am brand new to GR and challenges dealing with books. I'll read almost anything but love anything romance and YA. Oh I can be a little CDO at times, it's obsessive compulsive.

First new member for this year, yay! Welcome, Rajsee, it's great to have you - and good luck with your exams! :)

I'm an avid reader (esp. after I got my smartphone, TGFE!), and I love reading challenges. My main goal for 2014 is to read 150 - 200 books, and I recently realized that I'll need quite a few challenges to be able to complete my goal, because I don't like the idea of simply tackling my TBR list - I don't know where to start, too many interesting books!

My english isn't perfect, so I apologize for any mistakes :)

My name is Jim, and I'm a 50-year-old booklover from Voorhees, NJ (outside Philadelphia, PA) who works full-time for the US government. I joined this group yesterday, following a TCF group member named Rhonda from Wichita, KS whose friendship I "approved".
I like reading, dining out, sports (especially baseball), travel, and telling bad jokes.
I am a newcomer to challenges but that didn't stop me from joining this group's 2014 yearly challenge to read a certain number of books by December 31, 2014.
Look forward to participating while playing catch-up on my reading, hoping to get to mustard.

I so wish there was a like button for posts! Welcome, Jim. I hope you have a great time!

you'll meet that challenge cuz it'll be books you wanna read so I'm sure you'll enjoy the challenges. Don't be shy just jump in!
(thanks for the great find Rhonda)

My name is Jan and I have resided in California my whole life. I have been a member of Goodreads for about 15 months and have done a few challenges in the group I am most active in. But this year I have explored a few more challenge groups and decided to push myself to complete more.
My favorite genres are historical fiction/romance, steampunk, cozy mysteries and contemporary fiction. I also throw in an action/adventure novel every so often.
Looking forward to being part of the group!

Now, though, I do want to make an effort to become active in this group! I'm 20, and a sophomore in college, so I'm very busy, but I want to continue to do a lot of leisure-reading. The goal I've set for 2014 is to read 100 books by women writers, and it would be nice to do some other, smaller challenges, too, to help motivate me!

My favourite genre is fantasy but I also like mystery and poetry.
I'm a newcomer to challenges :)

I can usually be found in my free time reading, doing "nanna-type" crafts like cross-stitch and knitting. I enjoy puzzles and playing x-box.
My current favourite reading genres are YA and Historical Fiction.
I'm a newcomer to the challenges and joined the group in hopes of completing 'the Alphabet Yearly Challenge 2014'

My favorite genres are science fiction & fantasy, YA or Adult, doesn't really matter.
I'm a reading challenges addict! I participate in all of them if I can :)
